I paid $1k retail during the pandemic for the 90 lbs model. For this price, I could buy two sets and tape them together for 100 lbs, and still have money left to pay for the urgent care bill.

Please Note: The Sport 50 and PowerBlock 50 are the same product with the exception of color

Had these when in NY but sold them when I came down to FL. Bought them for $280 in pandemic times which I thought was a steal and sold them for $220. And now they are selling for even cheaper.

Pro's of these are you really don't have to worry about any mechanism failing. Metal construction. Small length.

Cons - a little unbalanced, weight in different areas. Would prefer a metal one thickness grip, not the ergo/comfort grip.

People complain that they are not expandable but you can get a decent amount done with them. There are a bunch of single arm exercise that 50 is good for. And 100 ain't bad for single leg exercises.

Thanks for posting OP, I'm in for a pair.

Can anyone comment in this stand? I have the USA version and they go to 90lbs. I'm not sure they would work

It's only rated for 50lbs:

I purchased this Powerstand + Powerblock50 about 2 years ago. Love it.

But I've recently upgraded to a new 90lb dumbbell version and they don't fit on the Powerstand. There's a different stand for the 90lb version--the Powermax Stand. If you ever see yourself upgrading from these 50's to a heavier set, you might want to consider just buying the larger stand to begin with.

Lowest price I have ever seen. Most people don't need more than 50 pounds let's be real here. Do more squats ya big chested chicken legged brutes.

Purchased and repped. Thanks OP

If you are serious about lifting and looking for a set that will last you a long time, I'd consider going for the expandable set. I found a good deal years ago and figured it couldn't hurt to have the extra weight. Within a few months, you'll want the 50+ pound options for chest, back, and even legs if this is your only source of home gym weights.

I love my set and have used them for 4-5 days a week for the last 8ish years. I honestly don't feel limited in the least outside of some forearms lifts where it's a little harder to get full range of motion. Pullovers are a little funky but you'll find a good angle on the weights to make it work.

Only damage that has occurred after insane amounts of time is the color coding plastic eventually breaking but that isn't a big deal once you've had them. Ease of use isn't bad at all. They are pretty quick to change out, especially if you don't mess too much with the 2.5 insert weights. I usually just roll with them in or out depending on the day and move in 10 pound increments. If it's on the lighter side I go for more reps. If it's heavy I do as many without sacrificing form.

My family would prefer the stand. I use the weights to anchor down my area rug on each side and someone inevitably ends up with a toe injury from cutting through my space. No stand works way better for me, so toes are expendable. 🤣

Grab yourself a solid bench and you can do so much with these weights. It will take a bit to get used to them but they have worked amazingly.

PowerBlocks are great. I have the Elite's with the upgrade to 70 lbs each. I also have the stand. I can strongly recommend them, I've had and have used them for years. No signs of wear at all.

This seems less expensive and more compact... any advantage to the $99 stand on woot?

Again for most people 50lb is good most if not all isolation movements. If done strict without a lot of momentum - 50lbs is good for curls, tri extension, lat raises, flys, overhead presses, etc

Compound movements like bench and rows not so much. I'm not that strong ,but I'm not a fan of using 70lb dumbbells and up for bench, it's just feels awkward for me, I'd prefer a bar.
But I get if you have a small home gym and dumbbells are the only option, then an expandable set that goes to 90 might be what you need.

If you are on the fence about if these are enough weight, at $200 you could easily resell these after you "outgrow" them for the same price or a little less.

Also 100lb isn't bad for lunges, split squats, 1 leg deadlifts. A decent amount of work can be done with these.

Go try farmers walk up and down your block with 100lbs and see if your heart rate goes up.

You're not wrong about reselling. I sold my 20+ year old sport 45lbers for $200 on Facebook locally about 2 weeks ago. Only took about a week to get a serious buyer.

In current market though, if I didn't already snag the amazing exp deal a few weeks back, I'd hold out for exp.
I'd advise people who want more than 50lbs to maybe do the same. Possibly save the Hassel of reselling all together. I wouldn't be surprised if the exp set pops back up on woot again with all the gym equipment overstock that seems to be in play.

If you're bigger and like to lift more than 50lbs. These will leave you disappointed on days you want to hit the larger muscle groups. I loved my 45lbers on arm days, but was a little unmotivated on chest day.

Never said the complaint isn't viable. Def some people out there that 50 isn't enough.
You can always increase reps, if the weight isn't enough for your max lift.

What does the term expandable or non expandable means?
It means you can buy additional expansions sets to increase the weight.(sold separately)

This particular set can only go up to 50lbs per dumbbell. The EXP set can go up to 90lbs.

Better deal if you're on a budget, the other one most likely just looks better and from the looks of it, has a bit of a more solid build.

You sure about that? I'm searching Slickdeals and can't find that. I thought, though could be wrong, the cheapest the expandable ones were were around $280. then around 90 for stage 2 and 70 for stage 3. Total would be $440.
