But if you think you're going to get some steal as compared to picking up the food yourself it almost never is much of a bargain.

You'd think this would be obvious by now, but people are still ordering Burger King combo meal delivery cause America is just that lazy.

The second tricky part is to find a place we want to pickup from that doesn't inflate the menu prices for pickup, like they all do on delivery. Chipotle seems to be the only place, at least around us, that lowers the prices back to normal menu prices on pickup vs delivery.
Fwiw, with the DoorDash Mastercard from chase, you can get a free year of dashpass, but more importantly, a perk of $5 off an order once a month. Turns a $18 chipotle order for two, into $13, plus I get 4 or 5% back the card. I added my wife to the card as an authorized user, and low and behold, she gets that same perk, free year dashpass, etc., so we can double dip on the $5 off.
There are some other minor perks and different sign up bonuses depending on which ad you sign up from, etc. the one I used promises a $100 statement credit for spending $500 in the first 3 months. Some other decent perks as well.
Like others have mentioned, delivery is a rip off nowadays, even with good coupons/deals. They all mark menu prices up 10-20%, then the service fees and tip. It's pretty silly.
As I mentioned, most places will mark up on pickup, like they do on delivery, in which case you are often better off using that restaurants own app (Chick-fil-A, I'm looking at you), unless your deal is really that good via DoorDash/grub/ue, etc.
It takes some searching around for the ones that don't mark up on pickup, but it makes the deals via DoorDash really really good when you do.
