- Make an eligible purchase at Staples and receive $50 statement credit.
- Complete your purchase using your Capital One credit card in the browser that opens. Purchases made through a merchant's app will not qualify for the rebate.

So whatever staples reports to the 3rd party site, is the same for all portals.
That means using coupons at least is fine. The capital one terms are just way too restricted nonsense.
It's all about what the store sends back to the 3rd party after the transaction completes. If Staples has a policy that says "no coupons" they can flag any orders the 3rd party claims where they see a coupon was used, same way as they need to let the 3rd party know about cancelled orders afterwards.
So whatever staples reports to the 3rd party site, is the same for all portals.
That means using coupons at least is fine. The capital one terms are just way too restricted nonsense.
Not valid for site to store orders. No idea whether that is enforced but it's in the terms.

actual savings are only $10 - $20 factoring in the higher sales tax on $50. Case in point - memory cards.
