About:
On-Camera Editing and this compact camera captures the details of your scene at multiple focal lengths, then uses sophisticated algorithms to combine 10+ images into a single, high-resolution photo.
Light's advanced image-processing engine captures 51.1 megapixels of rich data, creating high-quality images with striking details, realistic colors, and significantly less noise. Photographers have the creative freedom they need to zoom, crop, enlarge, and ultimately bring their vision to life.
3 stops of dynamic range and unlike most cameras, the L16 captures multiple images at different exposure values. When combined, final photos boast an impressively wide dynamic range—around 13 stops.
Weighing just less than a pound, the L16 offers convenience without sacrificing quality. Now, photographers can take professional-quality photos wherever they go.
I think the idea was you can take 1 picture and refocus any time you want. But the thing is only a few people really cares for that.
at $150 it might be a decent "cool toy".
There was a "cube" camera that did the same thing a number of years back, never really caught on. The sensor size on both makes things really useless for real shutterbugs. Plus improvements in photoshop make the concept pretty obsolite.

That was the Lytro, that didn't capture "pictures" in terms of collections of pixels per se, but rather light rays and ray fields (IIRC that was the technical term).
Light field still requires pixels. You just use the pixels to capture the ray information (require different kind of lens arrangement). This is why light field cameras using 24MP sensors can only generate 3MP pictures (a 3MP picture that you can refocus).
Any over simplification is that light field basically just simultaneously captures 8 sets of 3MP at different focus points (thus total of 24MP). Then you can just jump between different focus.
went down the rabbit hole of reviews for it. I thought it was cool when it came out but reviews since have shown it has poor quality photos, worse then some of todays smartphones.
I just watched an old 5-year-old video from Mr. Mobile on this camera, and apparently photos from it were worse than even a Pixel 2. Smartphones have improved so much since then so you could buy a cheap Pixel 4 or Pixel 5 and do better than this thing. It really is just a cool toy to collect.
that is why I love my DxO One and am still sad it never got a v2. Flick the lens cover open, camera powers on, compose and shoot a shot, flick the cover back, into the pocket it goes. Plus the 20mp 1 inch sensor is no slouch
Oh sweet thank you I will check this out. I've been toying with getting a blocked phone and not installing apps but I wlnay check that out!

I got super lucky and found one for $25 from france, but be warned I've actually purchased 3 total and only one of them worked, other two dead on arrival (thankfully refunded). One of the fun quirks of buying old unsupported tech.
SHipped to me, never left beyond New York. Mitopdeal kept saying they're sending me another one. That was 3 weeks ago, they have yet to provide me a tracking number.
Thumbs WAY down.

They probably got a cut of your money, the least they can do is reach out to the seller.
also please comment on your experience in future Mitopdeal posts. sadly SD will likely keep posting them despite bad track history, so help others avoid this
