Amazon has this bundle, including the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (32GB), a case and a wireless charger, on sale for Prime members. Regular price for the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition alone is $189; bundle is going for $163. Variations with leather and cork cases are also on sale for 167 and 172, respectively.
If you have an old Amazon device to
trade in [amazon.com], you'll get another 20% off -- not exactly sure how it's calculated but the final total is $110 before tax (breaks down as 80 for the device, and 15 each for the case and charger).

They are not much different. In fact, I read from the $20 paperwhite more due to it matte screen, flush screen design, brighter background, compact....
It your choice, but buy the $20 if it is your first Kindle reader!
I would buy the regular Paperwhite or kids edition. The value add of the signature isnt there (extra memory and wireless charging).
As an example, I have charged my current gen Paperwhite twice in 6mo and didn't need to charge it. It lasts FOREVER. wireless charging would be a total waste.

I think the 2017 one has a micro USB port while the signature has usb c, in case that matters to people.

Yeah try the cheap one first. You can always trade it in to Amazon for nearly what they're charging for it refurbished.
There aren't huge differences between Kindle generations. And the Paperwhite has been a fantastic device for years. I just traded in my 10 year old one and it still worked great.

That's the main reason I'm not jumping on this just yet. Plus, not sure if I really need a case and charging dock …
