Yep, a sound advise from a realtor.
If you want to buy gold, take advise from a jeweler especially from the guy who's selling you the gold.
If you want to buy stock, take advise from a stock broker especially from the guy who's selling you the stock.
If you want to get married to your girlfriend, take advise from her mother.

The best investment is in yourself. Get healthy and happy. Level up your skills. All the money in the world isn't going to save anyone from unhappiness. I'm not anti-capitalism at all, but people stress so much over trying to impress other people with big houses and luxury cars instead of living authentic, healthy lives. In the past month, a billionaire died in a car racing accident and another died with his son in a submarine. I sure hope they were happy because it's the last time they'll spend their money.

pretty sure the reason for no returns is speculation. You buy it for $2k, then price of gold drops to $1500, you return it to get your original $2k. If stocks worked like that, you'd never lose.

Is it though? I assume the personal resell value is less than retail value that Costco is selling this at.

If you account for overhead, it's marginal gains at best.

But gold has much higher risk than cash. If they bought stocks they would be way up with comparable risk.
