Tower Hobbies/Horizon Hobby[towerhobbies.com] is running their Christmas in July sale with a lot of unusually great discounts. If you wanted to get into RC cars, now is the time. Shipping is free on $99+ orders.
Same as above but with a brushed power system and a truck body. But it looks the coolest out of all these cars in my opinion
These will need batteries/charger.
Amazon[amazon.com] has 2-Pack Zeee 2S 5200mAh 7.4V 50C Lipo Battery Hard Case Lipos with EC5 Plug for $38.99
Cheap charger[amazon.com] for $12. to test the waters. I would recommend a $50+ charger from ISDT in the long run
For the ultimate slickdeal, you can join their loyalty program to earn points. If you buy a gift card, you earn points, and if you use the gift card to purchase the cars above, you earn points again. Basically double-dipping on points. However gift cards go under manual review and take 1-2 days to deliver, so the cars may sell out by then - especially the drag camaro.

My kid has a very small YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@rcalex1192). We have had just about all of the Arrma 3s stuff. Both Arrma cars are a good deal for on road speed/power slide kind of stuff. Tons of cheap parts (Jenny's RC). Keep in mind the brushed truck will be something an older kid/adult will outgrow quickly. As far as the drag stuff..... Unless you have a few friends to race that may get old quickly. Just my $0.02.. That said, Losi makes good stuff.

These will need separate batteries and a charger. Horizon batteries are good if pricey. That said their ecosystem is sure easy to use. But pricey.
Pay attention to the connector the battery comes with and the connector on the vehicle. Adapters exist, but they're typically cheap junk. Double check the connector type before ordering batteries. Your local hobby shop can swap connectors, but it's easier to have the correct ones to start.
Ordered yesterday, the Vendetta is on its way and the F100 is back ordered. The OVONIC 80C 3S 5200mAh will be here tomorrow from Amazon. Great prices if you follow this stuff.

did u guys notice the all the cars the msrp has been raised and given $40.00 off , which comes out to the same price example Vorteks, senton, infraction 3s (65mph) one.
I've been wanting to get a rc car. Which one of these is a good car for a first timer?
I'd recommend a cheap 2WD monster truck. They're more versatile IMO. Unless there's a large paved area available, the monster truck can be used in more places. Something like the 1/10 Granite for $100 would be a good starter vehicle. I started with a 2WD Traxxas Stampede that is still a ball of fun. It's also been dead reliable since there's not much to go wrong. If you get tired of it, selling a monster truck is a lot easier than a more specialized vehicle. As my local hobby shop told me, everyone loves monster trucks. They sell more of those than other vehicles.
If you live in a large metropolitan area, finding local RC hobby shops that sell Traxxas parts for the Slash / Slash 4WD (and associated friends - Bandit to some extent, Stampede, Rustler, and others) is trivial. In other words, if you wreck something and you want a replacement part that day, it's a breeze to pull into a local hobby shop and get whatever part you need, plus some good expert advice.
That's the benefit of Traxxas - they pretty much own all or most of the local hobby shops, so getting replacement parts is fast and easy. Yes, Losi and others are out there, but none to the degree of Traxxas.
Sure, Amazon, 2 days - all true. But if you want a part right away, a LHS is nice to have. And they all carry Traxxas stuff.
I suggest a 2WD Stampede (taller grass, dirt, etc.) or a 2WD LCG Slash (roads, packed dirt, short grass) for first timers, and a 4WD Slash (almost any terrain) or 4WD Stampede (almost any terrain) for those who want something a bit more advanced. Neither will win at the championship level or even close, but they are all fantastic cars with plenty of well thought through parts, design choices, great documentation (for example, https://traxxas.com/news/slash-3-stage-upgrade), and outstanding local dealer support.
If I had to say "buy one", it would be a 2WD Slash. They're the definition of a basic, standard, do-almost-anything RC car.
And endless parts availability, whether from Traxxas or RPM or other brands.
