This model has trackpad issues. I bought it from Dell and had to return it.
Looks really good on paper. Need to read up on the Trackpad issue.

EDIT : The touchpad issue seems to be a deal breaker as lot of people seem to be facing it. I also faced touchpad issues with my previous laptop and struggled to get rid of it, not doing that again
You answered your own question: it ain't a MacBook.

Seriously? To each his own. Call me old-school, but I almost never use the horrid touchpad as I work at least 10x faster using a mouse to navigate around. A wireless micro-mouse in the laptop bag...weighs next to nothing and take almost no space.

Buy it then, man. I was speaking for the majority. There will always be outliers

No. It's another thing that you have to carry. Assume you wanna use it on your lap, now there's no space for a mouse. It's a hassle... The mouse by itself isn't heavy, but it's something that you have to remember to carry no matter where you go

Neither. I use a usb mouse for my laptop 100% of the time. Far more productive with it than with futzing with some lousy touch pad, but that is me. And they are light and take up almost no space.

No space for a mouse?...seriously you carry your laptop without a laptop bag? Because I assume you use one to carry your power adapter, power brick, chargers, usb drives, flash drives, etc. A few ounce mouse in a laptop bag is inconsequential. If you walk around with it like some Ipad, then you should not be buying a 16 inch, i7 based gaming\developer model in the first place imo and be looking at some 13 inch all-in-one surface type.

Well, you can but not a lot of people wanna deal with that. That's something that you should think of carrying around all the time. Portability is the key aspect of thin and light laptops, so mandating users to carry a mouse now defeats half the purpose

Yes we can use a mouse also we can use a keyboard if we don't like keyboard also we can use external monitor if we don't like the display... But then why to buy a device like this and use additional substitute

Exactly. That's my point. Some people think otherwise too. If they can carry around a mouse, Godspeed to them. But I ain't doing that!

It's a shame to have good hardware config but bad keyboard or touchpad.

My laptop is a good config but I always hate using it ,it's like having a crazy girlfriend you don't want to dump her nor live with her !!!

Thanks for your responses. I didn't want to start a war over carrying a mouse or not, I just wanted to know if the issue would disappear with the use of a mouse. I do get both sides. I am using a laptop with the cursor keys that are 2 large left and right, and 2 tiny up and down and I hate it. I will never buy another laptop with this configuration again no matter how great the deal is.

No, I use the cursor keys a lot and understand why people are particular about certain things.
