I have several KP115 and they are all good after a few years of service. I have other Kasa products at home and none of them have issues. I do not know why people complain about them. I never connect any devices use more or even close to the wattage specified. But, that was KP115, not this new fancy KP125M.
btw, if a smart plug is plugged into power and and constantly waiting for commands through wifi, it has to use some energy, but it always reports 0 if it is off. So it monitors the energy that the connected devices, not itself.

I have had only one fail in over 20 switches. I opened it up and I am surprised they could make it so cheap.
Kaasa turned off support for my two energy monitoring switch÷a last evening. They are simply no longer showing on the app no matter what I have done even updated the app after all other efforts failed.
