From what I was reading, it's more that Best Buy is clueless about how the returns work than it's a 15 day policy. If you brought it to them and said "Hey, they said to return it here and that it's a 100 day trial. Can please you try to process it?", it'd probably work. Just be aware that it'll show as $0, but that's because Best Buy can't see the payment info supposedly. But once it's returned, Samsung gets a notification and then they process the refund (since they processed the original order / transaction). At least that's what I read on reddit when I was looking up how others were dealing with returns to Best Buy on Samsung order pick ups.

Anyone knw if I can use the Apple TV 4k with the Q990c and get dolby atmos and have everything sound/work properly and still get the best out of the Q990c? I read somewhere that Apple tv 4k doesn't have lossless audio passthrough (to be honest, not entire sure what that means). Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Samsung caved in and gave me 65 dollars credit. I'll still have to return it since the other order already shipped. $905 after tax... only if you live in Sacramento. Otherwise, I'm returning it to Natomas best buy.

they had a change of mind... I didn't hound them after they declined it yesterday. weird.

Apple 4k TV will preserve the channels and object based tracks for atmos playback to work with no problem, but as mentioned it doesn't have lossless audio passthrough, so for example playing a media file with TrueHD 7.1 Atmos would not play as it is. Someone more experience may chime in, but I believe AppleTV down samples that to DDP 7.1 Atmos. Besides most streaming providers are using DDP anyways, so if you're mostly using it for streaming media through the usual streaming providers, you'll be fine.

I have a new favorite SDer of all time. This was legit the easiest thing I may have ever done. I was set up within minutes and now have a ridiculous upgrade from my ancient HW-K950 on the way!

Home media, say you run a Plex server, and use the Plex app through your AppleTV. Like running a rip of a bluray you own that has TrueHD 7.1 Atmos tracks, you get a full bitrate quality bluray rip from the disc, video and audio. There are other scenarios as well, but not much.
