I returned my pair recently because the noise canceling cannot be turned off. It has two modes -- full noise canceling and "aware" mode which is supposed to let outside sound in, but there's no way to simply turn off noise canceling.
Which is wild because there are a million situations where noise canceling doesn't work very well, so at best it's draining your batteries. At worst it is amplifying random wind noise or dishes clanging or whatever. I don't want to hear that shit twice because I can't turn off your stupid noise canceling feature.

I will probably return my refurbished one from a couple of days ago and reorder on Bose site with cashback.

One of the coolest features is the app though- on top of great noise cancellation control they actually have nature/sleep sounds you can play to help you relax. It was fantastic on a recent 4 hour flight I was on.
