For those who care. This lock is ANSI grade 3 - Grade 3 is the minimal acceptable quality for residential door locks. For lock grade 3, the lock must be tested and able to handle 200,000 lock cycles, 2 door strikes and a 150-pound weight test. (2 strikes at 150 lbs isn't much).. The ANSI grade is usually a biggest factor in price (for those comparing to $200 grade 1 Schlage locks)

A rock through a window is much more likely than someone hacking your WiFi…. locks are meant to keep honest people honest. If someone really wants in, then no single deadbolt will stop them.

You're asking about the Schlage encode PLUS, which is an updated version with Apple HomeKit integration. There's also the encode which is slightly cheaper and likely more similar to this.
The major difference is the Schalge locks are rated ANSI/BHMA Grade 1, where as this lock is rated Grade 2.

For my own home recently and for my Airbnb in Florida heat/humidity since last year, I went with the Schlage Encode PLUS based on both security and durability, after having a bad experience with an August/Yale lock.

Feature wise, it might be personal, but it fit both of my needs perfectly on those two different scenarios.

Can someone share experience using this lock?
My experience with Eufy has been poor. There products are a cheaper version of whatever sells. It's like buying a RadioShack quality substitute of OEM.

I would not trust them with any sort of access control to my residence.

I can't imagine wifi is great for battery life or security. I wish there were more products using zwave or zigbee.

Is the fingerprint one a wifi model? If not, it's an apples to oranges comparison. Battery life on fingerprint or keypad only locks is drastically longer than wifi locks, which have to maintain a wireless connection 24/7.

For instance, the batteries on my Schlage keypad lock lasted over two years. But no wifi lock from any brand is going to touch that.

Locks are for keeping honest people out. Unless you have bars on all of your windows, if someone is hell bent on breaking in, they will. If you're only speaking to longevity, then it is something to consider. Just my two cents.

Yeah, exactly. For my house, they can just enter thru the side gate and walk in through the glass sliding doors in the back. My dog is the biggest security/theft deterrent 😆
