I have the colored version in my basement and have run them 12hrs a day for months . They are solid. Yeah not the typical use case but if you search TheCraftyCatsman secret door you will see what they look like in warm white.

I own multiple Govee products and am consistently impressed with their quality and ease of use with the app
Agreed. I have a total of 20-48ft of these and 7 failed in three weeks. I installed them with all connections wrapped in heavy duty aviation tapes and to multiple outlets for current stability etc. The pain is, the bulbs failed in one section and not others and others, half of them have strobe effect and the other half normal. All in all, the skimping corners for the price as evidence in thinner wire, plugs, bulbs count per foot etc. And yes, I tried to reach out to them when things went south, but the same style wasn't available and who could wait for inventory or have mismatched styles? Ended up with Costco ones and the different is night and day in build quality and bulbs count. Outdoors in Deep Southern bipolar weathers since last October! But, my two cents vs warrior pros on SD.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Flipping a switch could be faster depending on location. My point was that this is a Bluetooth only model and does not connect to Alexa etc.

Is it normal for an adapter to not be waterproof?

"IP65 Waterproof: The govee outdoor lights with IP65 water-resistant rating are waterproof, sunproof, snowproof, and safe for outdoor use. Enjoy year-round waterproof patio lights no matter the weather. The adapter is not waterproof."

People in the Q&A on Amazon were complaining about that it seems.

Waterproof isn't technically waterproof in most cases. It's good enough with an IP rating of IP65. The IPX5 indicates protection against water jets projected by a nozzle against the enclosure from any direction.

Was going to but decided to pass. Don't like controlling lights with Bluetooth.

Costco's is legit! Bulb count matters! Has been up for years in all sorts of midwest weather and works like a champ. Extra bulbs too (they seem somewhat universal). Heavy duty cord as well.

One bulb every 2 ft for Costco .. 24 bulbs at 48 ft vs 15 for this deal. (Though this deal has the fancy / dimmable bulbs).

Think you will have to find a friend or family member to purchase. I bought the 48 ft and would like another and can't use it again.

I wouldn't buy this since this is for outdoor and everything should be water proof at least water resistant. Pass.
