Mine went through. I missed the Amazon deal a few hours ago, honestly happy to give my money directly to Western Digital.

Thanks OP, and I purchased this exact 2TB couple weeks ago for $135 and 1TB for $69. Can't wait to see prices for PC parts on Black Friday.
Should we expect prices to drop further by BF, or have we hit rock bottom? I ask because I have no use for these at the moment, but I likely will need one by BF time.

Last time I purchased an item thought PayPal deals--a hard drive from WD--I never got anything back. I made numerous attempts to resolve this with PayPal by phone and email. They kept saying they'd look into it and someone will reach out to me. They never did. Eventually, I just gave up. I don't have much confidence in PayPal customer service. Just my personal experience.
Might try turning off Ad blockers and Tracking Prevention on your browser. I use Edge and I have to turn that off every time I try to get a deal. Tracking Prevention is in the browser settings.

Thanks for the tip! I did turn off Ad blockers, which is normally sufficient for cashback sites, but never thought about the tracking prevention part.

I would try my luck but with these cb offers, this could be the better deal if there are no cb offers later.

You probably mean Samsung 980 and yes. Samsung used to be king but they've had reliability issues recently that was supposedly 'fixed' with firmware but I personally don't trust them anymore.

This drive is right near the top in terms of speed and reliability. Possibly only beat by the top spec Sabrent & Firecuda 530 which are both significantly more expensive.

If you need a an NVME, this is the one to get.
Thx imma return the 980 pro for this

FWIW, I just bought this thru Best Buy and they did price match to what was on the WD site. I had to go thru the online chat. Thanks for the deal, OP!

Can you put this in a enclosure and make it portable? Usb-c?
Yes. Sabrent's EC-SNVE with 10 Gbps, Orico's M2V0-C4 with 40 Gbps (expensive).

The InnoGrit IG5236 + Micron 176L reliability is just fine, unless you have data to support otherwise? Support wise I'm not sure and you are probably right about it.

They asked about 980 but could mean the 980 pro since that was on sale recently. But still this is slightly better than the 980 Pro. 980 Pro is a first batch gen 4 drive which does not top out the speeds of the gen 4 interface, while this one is the second batch and gets close to doing so. Although realistically no one would probably know the difference outside of large file writes.

Also agree on the reliability part, although last time I tried to explain that in the 980 pro thread was met with TDs.

WD created a support ticket about refunding the $23 difference from last night's price and have to wait a couple of hours to hear back. Hopefully they will refund.
