You can watch it via the standalone Max app on Roku and Fire TV.

You just need to go to https://max.com/providers and there you can link your Prime Video account that has Max to the standalone app on Roku or Fire TV. Just look for Prime Video Channels.

I attempted to cancel my current Max via Prime and I was offered $7.99/month for 3-months to stay.

You can pay for Max w/ your Prime No Rush credits [amazon.com] btw.

This is a good deal.
However, i have got tied of clicking and clicking and clicking to watch something on Amazon Prime Video;
You click to open Amazon Prime Video.
Then you click your profile.
Then you click and click, maybe a 3rd click, to get to the Entertainment Channel (this case HBO)
Then you click and click to find a movie(clicks you can expect to make anywhere)
Then click to start the movie.
Then click to fast forward the promo AD that comes on.

The Max app is horrible. It had only 1 star for over a month after it's release until they convinced Google to merge the HBOMax reviews into the Max reviews.
Sort the reviews by recent reviews and work your way down. It wont even load on one of my older TVs. Crashing and buffering issues with most of the other TVs.
The HBOMax app was fine. Why they couldnt just rebrand it instead of creating this crud is beyond me.

2 months works for me.

I like Max but not enough to keep it year round at full price.

I'll take 2-months a year at a discount to catch up on what I missed.

I wonder if I canceled my Max subscription through Roku today and added this Prime offer if it would start the two months at the end of my current Max subscription through Roku?

Maxx is a joke at $200 per year considering how little new content they release. $8 is the correct price imo

I just started a free trial a few days ago. I tried to cancel to get this deal but it does not seem to be possible. Oh well.

I had a year subscription with about 7 months left... and max cancelled my subscription, gave me a refund... and I'm refusing to resubscribe. Screw them... until there is something I really want to watch.

If you get this, check out the show Warrior! It's an amazing and underrated show that is currently in its 3rd season.

It's worth it just to watch the Righteous Gemstones.

Thanks, this worked for me too.

I was in my first month of subscription to Max/HBO, after my first free trial. My account has done cheap subscription offers like .99/month on other channels a couple times.
