Been watching this garage opener for the past 2 years and this year its on prime and goes for $413 plus tax. This is better than the recent one a couple of months ago since the prior deal did not include the back up battery.

Lowest price on camel for 3rd party is $417 and through amazon $448

I have two Liftmaster wall-mounted jackshaft openers.

Jackshaft openers are great for freeing up ceiling space. I mounted SafeRacks storage (from a SlickDeals/Costco deal, of course) above the garage door's open position.

Interesting, so this allows me to get rid of my ceiling mounted garage opener and the bar it connects to? Currently it sits at about 7ft high for me, which could possibly get in the way if I wanted to use my garage as a VR playspace.

I believe the bar I'm referring to is also used for manual lifts, etc. So I'm not 100% sure if I can get rid of it, I do see it mention this contains a battery backup though.

Same! I've got a lift master and really considering this because of price. I don't want two different apps but for nearly $200 savings I just may suck it up

edit: just checked my old order and found I paid $484 for the lift master two years ago. although I don't have a time machine I may just wait to see if that brand drops in price

great deal for jackshaft opener!

Well this is certainly something I didn't know existed and now I want one. My 1980s unit is still going strong though.

I would not even touch that veteran tank of a unit until it dies.

That bar is just used by the opener. If your door was installed properly, the springs/torsion bar attached to it will do the heavy lifting. That's how manual only doors operate.

It keeps fluctuating. I saw that it was this price last night as I have a price alert on CCC. I run this exact opener already and it's been fantastic. Very quiet and a great alternative to the lift master

Yes. You can still manually lift the door with a Jack shaft style opener. The springs balance the load just the same. I run a high lift door and this greatly opened my space as I have 13' ceilings but my door height was at around 7-8' previously. You will eliminate a lot of clutter and this unit is extremely quiet.

The do not list HP anywhere. I have wall mounted lift master that is rated 1/2HP and I can definitely feel it struggles a bit.
Would be interested if they used HP so it can be compared to other models

I've always been told that hp shouldnt matter much since the heavy lifting is really coming from the springs.

FYI these side garage openers have a high failure rate. It's so bad that a few builders in my local city refuse to install them. I would purchase any kind of warranty plan if going this route
