I feel like every braided cable like this I've gotten is made in the same place and they always seem to break relatively easily (not visually, but losing ability to maintain proper charging connection).

Not super related to this post but the Dollar Tree has USB A to USB C adapters that seem to work great. Allows me to share my USB C / hub / HDMI thingy between my laptop, Steam Deck, and desktop (which doesn't have USB C). No idea about transfer speed but if you aren't looking to do anything to heavy with something it could save you a few dollars.

Code didn't work on 2 pack of 6.6', but worked on 2 pack of 10'. The original deal seems dead

It didn't work for me when I clicked on the specific item (lower down) but then I clicked on the original link and chose the 10' cords and it worked.

Yep, it's no longer the case that my cables fizzle out because the cable breaks but the connector wears down and stops making a good connection.
