Most dash cams will have difficulty clearly capturing license plates under majority of conditions. I'm happy to be proven wrong, and I'll happily buy the ones that can.

My recommendation is if your dash cam records audio, read the license plate out loud if you can.

N2 probably my fav dash cam to update. i love the dual cams. Apparently the thieves loved it too cuz they smashed my car window and took it lol

Mount big issue. Can't hold windshield and dashboard...
wonder if I should cancel the order

I ended up buying a VIOFO A129 Plus Duo for $133. Vantrue looks bulky and there were a lot of reviews with its inability to cope up with the heat. So, I passed.

Does it need to use hardware kit to hardwire?

I think even Vantrue needs hardwiring. I heard wireless ones are very laggy and then battery issues. You'll find plenty of YouTube DIY videos for the wiring.

After using mirror dash cam. I can't drive without it. Having rear camera display in your rear mirror display all the time is a plus. It can monitor blind spot better than your side mirror.

It might be just me. But, I can't trust tech 100% for everything. I might not be able to depend on the mirror dash cam all the time for blind spot monitoring, though it's accurate.

I have had a VanTrue E2 front and rear dashcam for several months. Very happy with the purchase. The cameras were easy to install. Have a fabulous picture quality, easy to remove front camera for security and easy to view the clips. Great camera.

I've been having that issue with my rear camera since I moved to Texas and surprisingly, I think it melted the adhesive so now the rear dash stays on there lol.

Anyone had these through multiple summers in TX or AZ type of heat? I've been hesitant to but a decent dash cam because of all the fake reviews and confusing specs. It's kinda crazy we're still struggling to get license plates at night in 2023
