Is it just me or are the digital copies evaporating from the recent 4k UHD Blu-Ray releases? I always purchased UHD because you usually got the physical and the digital.

Same with the recent Lord Of The Rings, no digital copy.

Seems to be a WB thing. They had a lot of their codes expired at the end of last year. And their customer service is a hard no on any kind of leeway.

Another interesting angle to that whole situation that I just learned about is that Warner Bros Discovery now own Vudu as they're apparently the parent company of Fandango who bought Vudu from Walmart a bit back.

And they did start expiring all old digital codes a few months back. Additionally going forward their movies will only come with codes for the initial release or maybe the first year and the codes all expire after two years.

I think they're working to assure they're getting more dollars per title by providing the code when the disc first comes out and is selling for $20. But come time for the price to drop to $10 no more code or the code is expired and you have to spend $10 more if you want digital thus still $20 total.

Or even better give them $20 a month in perpetuity for (HBO) Max.

I hate Warner Brother's and their digital code greed. Literally all my other discs that have codes can be redeemed after years but any WB's disc expires their codes fast after release. They want you to buy the digital copy as well. If you don't buy their movies around release then you're screwed for a digital code.

Agreed. Warner Brother's is the only company that I've had this problem with.

I've bought other movies with codes that were even 4-5 years past the expiration date with no issue, but with one recent WB movie I missed the expiration date by a few months and the code was no good.

I may be missing something, but I don't get what the fascination with digital codes is. There is no better quality than physical media itself. Streaming is compressed and who would want to watch movie like this on portable small screen? I thought the whole point of buying UHD or BD is to enjoy uncompressed full audio/video glory on a big screen? Seriously, not trolling, just trying to understand why people are after these codes? If the answer is to have a digital copy, then you can take your disk and back it up uncompressed into mkv format and store on your HDD.

Update: It shipped from Amazon last night; however, expected delivery is July 28, so two weeks before the expected delivery date listed when ordering. So thats a good thing, lol.

I agree, but I think the thought is that if you're spending money on the 4K disc, you should be able to also log into the supplying streaming site at any time from any location and - for convenience - get the best version you can to whatever device you're watching on. I never use my codes for the reasons you mention, but I can see people getting ticked that companies seem a little greedy not offering codes as an add-on. I think it's understandable that if you're spending the money on a 4K disc, you expect to get "everything" with that purchase.
