$13/mo is pretty good if you're making money off your craft. But I don't know if that's a low enough entry point for students. I've been out of college for a while. Now I feel old.

Adobe as well as Amazon both have no idea how this works (after an hour on the phone with both). Total idiots.

Let me help everyone out lol. Contact Adobe support and have them cancel your current membership. Then you can link your account. If the account was linked when you first tried, you need to unlink from Amazon account, cancel the order, and go thru the steps again. it says you must wait for your current sub to send, so something is messing up if you do it out of order

I'd like to believe you but wouldn't dare rely on that as definitive.

Even so, if that's the truth, what a trainwreck of sloppiness and greed. Adobe is affirmatively refusing to accept renewals and extorting account cancellations to hide the truth: this is for "new subscribers only" (something they never actually put in print).

During account linking, Adobe's servers receive notification to move the expiration date ahead one year. Adobe's greedy accounting department was like, nah, less profitable, make 'em struggle, tell the coders in the basement to block it.

lul ok. just went through the whole thing myself and this was the solution both Amazon and adobe reps suggested. also 'new subs only' is simply not true. the reason is a technical backend issue that very few people experienced. it does not make sense to spend time debugging an issue that takes literally 1 minute to fix, an issue they warn you about when you make the purchase that is easily avoided

.edu works as long as you haven't graduated within 2 years. it makes you fill out a form towards the end, but it was automatic for me

Given that this is a Student & Teacher edition, it's probably in Adobe's terms that you can't use this for making money.. and if there's any company petty enough to punish paying customers, it's Adobe, lol

Completely disagree. "That very few people experienced" is a fantasy of yours; this is how it happens for EVERYBODY because you can't have an active subscription for this to work. So guess what? You're one among many suckers who forfeited any remaining days/months by canceling your subscription early, just to accommodate the lazy Bay Area billionaires who strategically refuse to code this arrangement properly. Amazon is one of their biggest resellers of the Creative Cloud. They know what they're up to, and you're the sucker.

dude you gotta chill out lol. you don't have to redeem the membership right away. you simply wait for your current one to expire. also again, not only 'new subs', it's people without current membership. considering only about 5 people mentioned it here, I imagine that yes, it's a small issue. If it was bigger, I'm sure they'd adjust the code instead of overwhelming their customer service
