Bought an AX11000 at Costco a while ago. Been extremely solid so far, good signal and range, no issues with dropped clients or anything. Although.... it is huge and rather ugly.

Currently using it in AP mode since ATT Fiber doesn't really play that well with BYO routers and I've been too lazy to try the hacks to get it working fully. Worked fine as a full router when I was on Suddenlink.

Any feedback on this device TP Link? I'm on my second Archer C4000 the first one lasted 8 months then died i'm kinda sick of getting the messages from Apple devices that say Wifi 6 is suggested.

Yeah, the AT&T Fiber Internet Gateway (modem and router in one) is terrible. I gave up after trying 3 different routers and none would work correctly with it.

I would never get to use that much bandwidth. It's overkill. I'm not sure if the ax is worth the upgrade over ac. How much of a difference do you get through rooms/walls?

I have a couple of ax compatible devices and looking for ax, but this one has more bandwidth than needed and want something cheaper.

I get 800mbps+ everywhere inside my ~1800sq ft house. Drops off pretty quickly through exterior walls, but still get decent enough signal in my yard. The extra bandwidth just helps support more simultaneous clients at full speed as far as I can tell. I've never seen the negotiated link speed go over 1.2gbps.

So, you're getting 800mbps through walls in a room? I would be interested if that's the case.

Yes, it's in the center of my house, and I regularly see those speeds in the other rooms through walls, but again it's not a huge house. Drops down to N in the garage/yard but still get decent signal.

As pointed out by Sardine, there is more to AX than just range. To be honest range really didn't change much the attenuation improved cause of antenna design. The benefits of AX are higher speeds, negotiated links dont really mean much though (those are lab numbers), but wifi AC was capped around 550Mbps in almost all scenarios with AX over wireless people were able to achieve over 1400Mbps. Thats a huge increase over AC, that just means there is more bandwidth available to split wirelessly to all the wireless devices. The other benefits deal with managing large amounts of clients and how they share the available bandwidth so everyone is getting their fair share at all times when it comes to using it. Finally security cause of WPA3 being introduced as part of it.

Nice thing is the wifi 6 routers even help older wifi 5 devices cause of the passive antenna design upgrades, so increases in speeds and range do happen for those devices too.

Will this be a massive upgrade over a pair of AC68U in AiMesh?

How is the web interface on this? I have an older model, but I want to make sure I can get to most options without being forced to use a janky mobile app.

Having same issue with the ATT Fiber Gateway. The port forwarding does not work at all. I am considering getting another router and using the ATT gateway in IP Passthrough mode, but then Im introducing another point of failure with addition of my own router...and from what I understand, I might take a bandwidth hit using IP Passthrough mode.

Agree it's a pain in the butt. Took me a while to figure out how to switch everything over to 172 IP range. That said - port forwarding works for Minecraft Server/VPN/Plex just fine on the ATT gateway I have (BGW320). I've never had any NAT issues on Xbox/other online services. My current setup just has the wireless AP disabled on the ATT gateway and running the AX11000 in the built in access point mode. It works great and provides an 8 port GigE switch in my entertainment center.

I had it in IP passthrough mode for a while, but it's a double NAT setup as far as I could tell, and had the table fill up a few times. Also had issues with Xbox Live Parties and some online games. It's also another point of failure as mentioned. Haven't really noticed any differences between the two setups other than ease of use.
