The megapixel count isn't what matters on modern smartphones. It's just a marketing figure. The AI software that's processing the photo is what matters. Also, the quality of the sensor is more important than the pixel count. The Pixel 7 line only has a 50MP camera and it's tied with Samsung and Apple's flagships for the best photos. Moto has inferior software than the leading manufacturers. Moto has a phone with a 200MP camera, yet it takes inferior photos to even the Pixel 5's 12MP camera. Depending on what you're documenting, the Moto may still be fine, though. It's not like the photos will be a completely blurry mess. They just won't look as crisp and photogenic.

Same. I use the edge plus as my daily driver and pixel 7 as backup. I definitely don't get 2 days of battery life. That may be a good tradeoff for using the mediatek processor

Thanks to the person who mentioned the processor being used. Google the difference between the MediaTek Dimensity 1050 and the SD1. Huge difference.

That's a a tough one. This is better than the 6a in every way but brand. My aunt got the 6a and I have to say I'm really disappointed with it (I set it up for her so I have a lot of experience with it), no wireless charging on the 6a and the OS is painfully lacking. I get that the pixel us supposed to be a virgin android experience but as a Samsung user it felt like I went back 10 years.

But I'd trust google to support it for longer than motorola

Most phones have esims now... my s22 ultra US variant has esim and regular sim. I'm currently using esim which means I don't have a physical sim anymore but if I wanted a 2nd number I could easily do it with the physical sim

Do you only need to enter the code once (a-la TracFone) or every time you change network?

Yep uses the S23 recently on a trip for US esim and foreign physical sim to juggle 2 numbers

The two SoC's aren't exactly comparable apples to apples since they are designed differently. That being said, overall you'd expect it to be roughly the same as a SD780 or SD865 according to synthetic benchmarks. It really depends on the exact task you are trying to perform on the phone. If you're specifically thinking about gaming the Mali G610 on the Dimensity 1050 is better than the Adreno 642 on the SD780. However the Adreno 650 on the SD865 is better than the Mali G610 on the Dimensity 1050 in raw performance but not better in efficiency.
