Almost 2000 reviews, 88% 5 star, <1% 1 star... and you latch on to the one and only (unsubstantiated) claim about plating flaking, without a pic? No flaking on the Wera sockets I have, in fact... they're the best fit/finish sockets I've ever owned.

Seems like most people love this set, but according to CCC, it just isn't that great of a price - it's been lower recently, and hovering around this rate in general.

Good tools - but not a particularly amazing deal.

The actual typical price for these is around $127 from reputable dealers like Haus of Tools [hausoftools.com], where I've bought Wera tools from in the past.

I haven't used Chad's Toolbox, but they're $118.72 there [chadstoolbox.com], with an opportunity for some credit/cashback.

Honestly, I'd probably spend an extra $10 to buy from Haus of Tools just to not worry about authenticity.

Wera makes great stuff though. Their Hex/Allen Wrenches really are better than anything else out there, and if you work on anything fiddly that uses them (aka, bicycles), you owe it to yourself to get a set.

could they possibly hire someone who is at least slightly better at Photoshop in their marketing department? those MS paint level copy and paste product photo doesn't fit for company like Wera.

118$ for a little fancy ratchet set and the coating on some of the pieces flake off..?
"
The only reason not 5 stars is the plating on the extensions and sockets ( Not the Bits, Bit holder or ratchet ) started flaking off from the very first use creating little sparkle flakes when they were separated from each other. The rest of the quality on design and function are 5 Stars
"

reminds me of reviews from people for the 7 series BMWs... "amazing car! only needed 1 transmission swap in 30,000 miles!!!"

What makes their Allen wrenches better? Just curious. Allen wrenches are just so simple I don't know what determines quality other than type of metal used

I think this is not the right model to get. Check out the he belt clip version with short drivers that frequents here on SD.

A lot of hex wrenches have really poor tolerances and bad finishing. Because hex is so simple it's very simple for a bad wrench to ruin a fastener. Wera nails the material and their proprietary Hex Plus shape can work on fasteners that other hex wrenches have ruined.

WERA is extremely strong. So strong to the point where I was wrenching in a tempered glass TV stand and it popped out 3 hours later.. The glass panel that is. They're not a joke. German engineering all the way

Interesting set, I can't justify it, but I love the grab and go of a similar set I have. It tends to cover about 90%-95% of what I need to do.
