You can make up for the recovery fee by using a referral. I'm doing the 3 month unlimited, then will downgrade to a cheaper plan for month 4 and use the credit I have on my account.

Also, for those who want more of a hotspot. The 20GB plan is the same price and all of the data can be used for hotspot. The unlimited plan only includes 10GB for a hotspot.

Google Voice allows you to choose which number is displayed on an out call, so the other parties only see the Google Voice number. For me, it's made it easy to toggle providers/numbers.

I assume you change every 3 months but just use google voice to point to the new assigned number? Isn't it a hassle though when callling out it gives differnet number?

Correct, as long as the calls are made from GV. When using the default phone app (or iMessage) in iPhone, it's going to show the phone number from the SIM. I haven't found a workaround for that. For Android not a problem.

How do you get this price at Best Buy? Looks like 3-mo unlimited is $90 there.

The big problem with this deal is the $7.75 recovery fee, making it really $52.75 plus tax.

Have you tried usmobile? My mint annual plan discount was expiring so I switched to usmobile for their 100 day free trial, port in is required for their free trial. It's been as reliable as mint was for me. Once my 100 days is up I'll switch back to mint promo plan like this one.

If somebody is giving you a referral, you can't use the BestBuy purchased SIM AFAIK. You can use SIM purchased from Mint directly.
