There's a review of the back opened up and it's three lines of exposed copper. No insulation on the hot or neutral. Huge hazard should it become compressed somehow and energizes the metal casing just from a shock stand point. Not to mention arcing (fire) hazard from the non insulated wires.
In case anyone didnt see this picture. Bare rails close together, I wouldnt touch this.
So tempted, but I'm unable to find any specification of the clamping voltage for these, which is an important metric of the quality of the protector.
It only has the joules rating which is unfortunately pretty low (840j), so I wouldn't risk an expensive equipment e.g. a TV on this.
Looked through all previous threads and reviews/ QnA - anyone know what the clamping voltage is?

For ~$20, the best ones I've found so far are these amazon ones (only the 12-outlet versions - not the 8-outlet)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GPRSP5R
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GPF72BZ
These have been well documented to be 330-400-400 clamping voltage, 4320 joules; and come on sale periodically for ~15$
On paper the best rating we can get (only short of the TrippLite Isobars which go for $50+).

The above are rebrands of the APC

Why on earth did they design the cord coming out of the TOP of the 12 outlet version instead of the bottom or at least end like the 16 outlet one. Even their pictures show how annoying it will look lol SMH

Flip it around. Now it comes out the bottom. Lol

These things are a fire hazard. I have the 12 and 9 outlet version.

The outlets are held in place by cheap plastic clips and the outlet has a very strong clamping force.

These outlets are only good if you unplug devices once or twice a month only, not to be used daily.

The plastic clips will fail and you will eventually pull out the plastic socket because of the cheap clips that break easily due to the strong clamping force.

I bought an amazon warehouse one and returned it thinking it was defective, but I bought a brand new one which had the same problem. I unplugged it like 5 to 10 times within a week and it broke.

I almost got myself killed, but thankfully i unplugged the power strip before unplugging my usb charger.

I also left a 1 star review with a video and pictures of what i am talking about on amazons page.

Now now. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten shocked, 110 USas well as 240 EU. Still alive and kicking

Clearly, no one here is happy with the construction, or safety of this. So can anyone point me in the direction of a high-quality safe one that can be used to power 4 monitors a PC, laptop charger and a couple of lights.
APC products are a little expensive but they are reliable and good quality.

APC Performance Surge Protector model P11U2 has a surge rating of 2880J and has a thing called catastrophic event protection. In the event that the surge protection components fail the surge protector will shut down completely to protect your electronics.

Track lighting raceways have the wiring secured in the side rubber / plastic channels that supports it for the entirety of the run. This power strip has bare metal running side by side by side with no support other than the plastic casing for the outlet. They are not the same.
But what if you crush it! It could short out too! Lol (the original complaint). The outlets are like 1-2" appart, it's not going to sag.

The real issue with this strip is that it literally falls apart.

Weird flex.

Putting that aside, thinking that a person will be fine getting shocked is quite stupid.

First you should get checked by a doctor for any heart issues if you got shocked more times than you can count.

Second, if you got shocked more times than you can count, you should stop doing what you are doing and hire a professional because apparently you can't do the job properly without getting shocked.

What happens when there is enough current to cause the heart to stop or muscles to contract and not let go of what you are grabbing?

It's weird that you think it is okay for someone to use a product that has a design flaw which could potentially kill them.

Im fine. But people make it sound like it will instantly kill you. It won't.
