Tough to call. I got it for $19.99 from GameFly and thought it was okay. It has cool boss fights, the controls can be funky, and while the monsters are cool, the game is dark and you can't see many details that make them unique. I was surprised to see it was developed by Flying Wild Hog, who does the Shadow Warrior series because I would expect more polish from them. It's cool that it's a horror shooter, but it depends on your tolerance for mediocre games and if you're looking for a shooter that's not like the rest to play.

Yes. To be honest, it was some of the most fun I had last year. The game is not super long (maybe 10 hours?), but it never overstays its welcome and keeps building upon itself by adding new weapons and skills, etc. It's not a very intelligent game but just reminded me of the "dumb fun" action kind of games that were more popular a couple of generations ago. Nothing overly ambitious or groundbreaking but a fresh, steampunk-style setting and fun, varied combat. I didn't pay attention to the plot because I don't really care about that kind of thing, but I doubt it's any good. If you're getting this game, though, you're probably not getting it for that.

Disagree with the poster who found it unpolished. I found it highly polished, and I played it at launch. Patches may have improved it further.
