I have the 85" Hisense from the couple years ago Black Friday sale from BB priced at $999.

While it has its issues mostly with software and the weak cpu it's still working and the Geek Squad warranty is the best option out BB, Amazon, and Wal-Mart that I've seen.

At $1499 this U7H is a lot of bang for your buck with the 120hz panel and supporting VRR/ALLM for gaming.

If you have the space and get the warranty, this is a good deal.

Note: you need at least 2 strong adults to mount this thing, it's heavy and awkward af. The box is also continent sized.

I rather take a sledgehammer to my face then let geek squad touch anything I own.

Is the 85" a VA panel like the smaller ones or IPS like the older gen 85-inchers?

Fwiw I worked for geek squad like 10 years ago and for large tv repairs we had contracted with local electronics repair shops who would come to your house and do the repair. Obviously if it wasn't fixable you just got a new TV. Dunno if the business model has changed since I left.

FYI, Best Buy shipping isn't free. They want $80 delivery fee. Walmart is completely free shipping. Amazon isn't showing available anymore.

On the BB webpage, just above the yellow "Add to Cart" button it says, "FREE Delivery: As soon as Fri, Jul 21". Maybe you live somewhere relatively remote?

BudN's review on Best Buy says, "Viewable from all angles without loss of picture quality." So, I would guess it's IPS.

Haven't heard of uled but thanks for making it even more confusing marketing team!

From what I understand it's OLED>ULED>QLED>LED

Is that an accurate rule of thumb or am I missing some more leds?

No.
ULED is just the brans marketing BS. It means that this TV has quantum dots and local dimming. It is good. I am not slamming the technology, I am just point out it is like calling a grape jelly purple monster. IT does not change what the product actually is. It is still grape jelly.

I would suggest you read up on the technologies at rtings.

OLED makes its own light. It is the dimmest and the whole panel is dimmer when the panel has a high percentage of white. Since each pixel makes light it does not need any tricks like local dimming to increase apparent black levels. If you liked plasma TV's you will like the OLED.

OLED is the king of the jungle, i.e. easily the best quality picture you can obtain right now. It is also far more costly than anything else as well. ULED and QLED are basically the same (quantom dots) -- manufacturerers will call them different things, i.e. it's ULED for Hisense, QNED for LG and QLED for TCL.

How does this compare to the LG 86" Class - UR8000 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV?
