This is like double the price of store brand Costco and Sams.

TLDR: YUCK!!!

I have been using finished Powerball tabs for 10 years, I tried all varieties, the quantum, the classic, whatever - always worked fine. Got the "power" ones on a Slickdeals, and they are AWFUL! They clean okay, but they leave a perfumery taste on anything plastic or silicon. Pyrex lids kids cups/straws, water bottles, etc. Taste transfers to everything , but especially water and fruits/vegetables. I had to throw out a half box. Classic are the best IMO.

Aside from the "flavor" they impart (per zakatackk), does the skin on them deteriorate? We bought some Palmolive ones a while back and half the bag has the outer cover of the pads already deteriorating, with the rinse agent having dissolved into the powder part.

Will stick with solid types for now until the problem is solved.

The finish powerball quantum at Costco is slightly cheaper ($17.99/100). Don't know if it's cheaper in the store or not.

I noticed this too, but using the "high temp" option on the dishwasher solved the problem.

Sure. But that will send your dishwasher to junkyard quicker too.

BTW, this is not a deal at all. 2X or 3X of Kirkland in Costco, which works well too.

Kirkland did not work well for me at all; over the course of one box I had small mold-like stains which was never the case with Finish. I think Kirkland lacks some type of bleaching agent that Finish has.
