Points and cert go to your hilton account, they're unconnected to the credit card once earned.
There's no reason to cancel before next annual fee posts of course- and doing so is likely to PO amex- but after you've had the card 1 year feel free to cancel and avoid a second AF (you will prob. lose any unused PP benefits though)
free night certificate

You mean a 3rd annual fee, as it's recommended to keep the card at least a year (2 AF)
No, I do not.
As long as you cancel the card within 30 days of the 2nd fee posting Amex will refund it in full.
So you wait for 2nd fee to post (thus avoiding any negative impact with Amex for holding less than a year after getting a bonus) and THEN cancel it, and you still don't pay a 2nd annual fee.

0.5 cents a point has been a rough approximate value for a while now... but there's plenty of outliers in both directions (and you can also increase value using the 5th night free of redemptions)
is giving "Earn 130,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points + A Free Night Reward" and $95 annual fee
need not spend $15,000 in a calendar year to earn free night.
Please suggest

The FNC is part of the signup bonus. They DO advertise that. It's right in the title of the thread- and when you click on the link in the OP it clearly says at the top
You don't get one for keeping it open each year after by default, which is why for most folks this card will be closed after 1 year and 1 day.
The only Hilton card usually worth keeping open after your SUB year is the Aspire- which can be profitable pretty easily each year if you travel much at all.... ($250 airline credit, $250 resort credit, and a free night annually plus Diamond status (and a couple other much more niche perks like a $100 property credit at Waldorfs and stuff) for just a $450 AF... honestly I'm shocked the AF has remained that low without benefit cuts given what has happened on the comparable Marriott card from Amex.
