Oh thank goodness this deal came just on time. I have an interview on Friday and I lied on my resume that I know python. Hopefully this book will make me a master by then. Thank you OP! Repped.

That's only 4 days, you don't have enough time. Reschedule your interview to next Monday. 😆

Isn't chatgpt going to make learning this useless?

The book was published in 2016 and is based on python 2. So unless you are specifically looking to learn python 2 in a very hasty way, a "my demy" course like python from 0 to hero would serve you better. It's based on python 3 and has some updates and geared towards beginners.

Nah, ChatGPT isn't perfect - if you rely on it for coding it can be wrong in many cases. Books/Guides assume a same version of the programming language where ChatGPT may provide an example that'll work for Python 3 but not 2, or vice versa. Definitely a good supplement to learning though

You must understand some content to even ask the right questions and understand and validate the answers. My answer is 42. Do you know what question it is for?

chatgpt can correctly answer some difficult syntactical questions that may confuse some coders but I don't think it is as good as a decent python tutor who has learned the language by experience. I wonder how chatgpt assigns correctness to various similar and or slightly conflicting answers it finds off the internet. Even if it has a good system in place, it is probably never required to produce solutions to problems in python and evaluate how it's provided answers reach expected results or take steps to correct itself if it's provided solutions are incorrect. We human beings usually must look for ways to reconcile the conflicts between expected and actual results. If not, we are usually considered an unreliable person.

I think I bought that course when it first came out. Do they really update it and never charge a fee if you take the (updated version) again?

ChatGPT isn't perfect (yet), you'll still need to edit the code that it generates.
