Sonic 1 and 2 were on the first Sega Genesis Mini. Sonic 3 is often missing from these collections. I don't think it has ever been officially confirmed but supposedly Michael Jackson worked on some music for Sonic 3 and there are possible issues tied to the rights.

Tempted but I think I will wait to see if the price drops further. The fact Amazon is eating the shipping on these right now does make this tempting. Going to hold out to see if the price drops another $15 - $25.

I really love Sega, and I think these mini consoles are fun, but I wonder if anyone is actually spending that much on these.

You could easily grab a cheap Genesis off of FB Marketplace, a flash cartridge with an SD card, a wireless Genesis controller, and it would probably cost this much or less. Especially if you use a Chinese flash cartridge. IDK, maybe that's too much for people. I guess I get it.

You can get roms and emus [retroarch.com] for free if you know where to look. Why pay twice for something you already bought 30 years ago. There are people who don't know how to do this though and don't care to learn. For them, there's shit like this. Sometimes it's made difficult by whatever platform they use. All Apple? Good luck trying to sideload, you won't find the excellent Retroarch [retroarch.com] in the app store.

I don't disagree with any of this, but "limited production" or "scarce" have always been vague terms, and it's even more difficult to tell how many of these have been produced. Obviously, the demand isn't there, although I have thoroughly enjoyed mine.

This is not a good mini system. Games have input lag, some games worst than others. Even worse is the sound lag, which affects all games. Just hoping someone hacks it to make this thing more useful. Ending on a positive note, the system looks pretty 😉

And consumers wonder why Sega won't make a Saturn or Dreamcast Mini yet. It's because gamers are cheap and broke. "Chip shortage" = people won't pay current prices
