Just leaving this comment here for the benefit of others - This is the Edge (Mediatek processor) and not the Edge + with the Snapdragon processor.

Call 833-428-1765 for Costco TMobile and you don't even have to go to the store at all. I did this deal on Sunday.

If you have an old SIM, you might want to upgrade to the R15 version. As I understand it, the R15 can register directly on the 5G network without first registering on LTE. This would only matter if you have 5G SA in your area, but SA is the future, so a new SIM isn't a bad idea.

you don't have to open the phone and activate right?

I will use this phone in the future for my son for his kids youtube videos but don't want to open now.

once you receive the phone, you have to open and activate or can just keep it unopened brand new and still receive the bill credits?

Is this Motorola Edge 5G (2022) better or worse than the Motorola Stylus 5G (2023)?
I just got the EDGE 2022 last week and so far, the EDGE is way better than the Stylus 5G 2022, it's like night and day. And since the Stylus 2022 and Stylus 2023 are similar in performance per reviews, than I concluded the EDGE is superior in every way. From the speed, the weight, and the overall performance, the EDGE feels like a different class.

You can keep them unopened

I opened one up

Have to buy some tempered glass and cases for them

Also, I sent out my trade ins. Once they accept them and the promo sticks, I will open up the others.

Check your account, the promo should be on each line already. there have been instances in previous deals that T-Mobile can remove the promo if something is wrong with the trade in.

YMMV, but when I went into a corp Tmobile retail store to trade my Alcatel One Touch flip phone and a Alcatel Evolve phone (https://www.amazon.com/Alcatel-On...B00NJ9ST2A), the Tmo Expert says that system won't accept these phones. Luckily, I brought a few more to test and they accepted a Motorola E4 (Sprint) phone.

Anyways, they charged me a $35 fee and plus tax, the total was like $77 (TX tax). The expert said that he needed to open the box to make sure the phone is not broken and inserted a new sim card. Hmmm....

Anyway, I was using a BYOD free line from DEC 2022 and a day later, the Moto promo was activated and it showed up in my account as a new Device benefit. I also received a text from Tmo saying the trade was a success and I will be getting credit for 24 months.

Edit:

FYI, my plan is the MM family plan, 10 lines total, with 4 paid and 6 free lines.

correct, I didn't meant to use the old sim from 20 years ago. as long your old sim said R15 is fine.

So I played around with the new phone yesterday, using my non identifying (i.e.: made up name) google email.

To my surprise, it seems T-Mobile is sharing your REAL name with google.
Maybe for the 100gb google one trial, maybe for something else.

This is how I found out:
Open Play Store app
Click your name icon (top right corner)
Go to "settings"
"General"
"Account & device preferences"

Under the "Country and profiles", I see my real/legal name there.

This is messed up.
I used a few android phones from TM and others, and this is the only one that shows.

Anyone know of a good third party charger that supports charging this at the max turbo speed (10v / 3a)? Wish all phones would just use the PD standard...

Edit: looks like any PD 3.0 PPS charger should work.

keep it in phone for 100% unlock rate.

or try this trick, make few calls and texts with new phone. then put sim back to your original phone. on day 41, put sim back to new phone make few calls then request for unlock.

I don't think it's T-Mobile. Google knows everything about you and they probably linked your fake account with real one, even if you never intended to.
