Just need to get my new phone delivered and mail off the trade in. Thanks Slickdeals!
1) Went into Costco kiosk to trade in 4 phones on this deal.
2) Kiosk processed all 4 with no issue on imei.
3) I was then told kiosk could not process the physical trade in but I just need to go to a Tmobile store to drop them off with the documentation kiosk provided (lines with trade in imei).
4) Went to a Tmobile store to drop off phones. Was then told they can't do it because transaction was not done at their store. Best they could do is to print me the labels. I had no choice so I accepted the labels then boxed and mailed each one with their respective label.
5) They were received by the destination warehouse on 7/25.
6) I received notice that one of the 4 was completely processed and I got the trade in credit for it yesterday. Cool. Guess I'll wait for the other ones.
7) Today I got 3 notices to send in my other trade ins. Apparently they haven't processed the other 3 yet. Checked tracking and they were all delivered to the whs same day.
8) Called Tmobile and was told I just have to wait another 2 weeks. If not, call back so they can initiate a device discovery process...oookay.
I'm hoping my 3 phones in limbo would process soon. This has been a less than smooth trade in process. I've done many with Tmobile and Samsung, but this was a lot more troubles than I expected.
The device was delivered 7/24, so about 2 weeks after delivery, tmobile will process the phones. Good luck and be patient on your tradeins.
I upraded two phone lines. Used old (very old) phones. The battery on one of the phones was expanded, and both screens were shattered. Ordered the new phones via Costco T-Mobile and dropped off the trade-ins today. Once I activated the new phones and turned in the old ones, I received notifications that I was enrolled.
I hope this helps answer some questions.
Notification I received:
T-Mobile: Good news—the trade-in for line xxxxx is complete! You'll receive a monthly bill credit for the Smartphone Trade ID230021 promotion, and all you need to do is maintain eligibility & service..."

Costco T-Mobile Rep recommended that I drop it off at the T-Mobile store since the kiosk I was at didn't take the phones. I didn't want to chance mail in, so I went to a T-Mobile corporate store.
Hi! The monthly bill credit for Smartphone Trade ID230021 on T-Mobile line XXXXXXXXXX has ended because the promo ended or your eligibility status changed..."
But once I popped in my hubby's sim card into the new phone, it triggered the text messages that I received the bill credits. Same with the other phone. Popped a sim into that one, and it triggered another text message. Maybe you don't have to "activate" it. Maybe it was just a coincidence that within a minute, after inserting the sim and powering up the phone, I received the "Good News" text message.
Also she inputted my IMEI from my phone, but couldn't find my brand of phone (Schock) from the pull down menu and selected Metro Trade Device not listed. I was getting concerned because she tried doing it like 8 times (not an exaggeration). Anyways, I got the below text to me, along with service agreement, and order number all text and emailed to me.
A quote of $0 was accepted for your Metro Trade Device Not Listed Metro Trade Device Not Listed - Metro Trade Device Not Listed with serial number xxxxxxxxxxxxx. Please return your trade-in device to a Retail store or send your old T-Mobile device within 30 days of receiving the new one. Visit t-mo.co/order26 for shipping instructions or call 611.
She did not input the code P444 anywhere and also called tmobile to make sure the promotion attached. The Tmobile lady on the phone told the Costco rep that it can take up to 72 hours for them to see it on their end.
So what are the next steps that I should do? Wait for the Moto Edge to arrive and then ship the Schock phone in?
Here is what mine said before I dropped the phone off at T-Mobile:
A quote of $0 was accepted for your ONLY Moto Edge 230021 ONLY Moto Edge 230021 - ONLY Moto Edge 230021 with serial number XXXXXXXXXXX. Please return your trade-in device to a Retail store or send your old T-Mobile device within 30 days....
oh, and I waited until I received the new phone before I went to a T-Mobile corporate store to turn in the HTC phone.
