I got in with the orginal deal without any issues. There was a lot of misinformation in the orginal thread, but yes, all you have to do it just activate the phone with the fi app, then take the Fi SIM out and never touch it again (sock drawer it, trash it, etc). You can pop in a SIM from another carrier with no problem. After 120 days have passed you can verify that it's finalized in your fi account > savings > earned. At that point you can do whatever you want, the discount is yours to keep.

I think a significant difference here is we are not getting the storage upgrade for free? I got this deal last time but got the s23 ultra with 512gb for the same price as they are offering the 256gb.

My brother has Fi but I'm not on their family plan. I just want the phone unlocked to use on my acct. If I buy it and activate it, not even use it but keep it active for over 120 days (cheapest plan etc) will I then be able to take it off their plan and have it free & clear unlocked for my own use?
The phone will be unlocked out of the box and you can use it right away with any non-FI provider.
Your brother will need to add you to his group plan so you can buy the phone. (I'm not sure if he orders the phone with his Google account or you buy it with your Google account). He'll be paying the group bill (and you reimburse him for the monthly cost). After 120 days and your promotion has been completed, you can cancel your service and he can remove you from his group plan.

Can i remove fi sim now and use my att sim or do i have to wait til account updates tomorrow? fi app on s23 shows activated.
You can remove the Fi SIM now. If you do that, uninstall the Fi app or reset the phone (which will also remove the Fi app) so it won't nag you to activate the Fi SIM when it doesn't see the Fi SIM in the phone.

I did not. But the amount charged was correct, and it shows up in my Fi Savings in progress.
Have you activated your S23 phone yet? If yes, was it recognized as activated by a current Fi member?

I was under the impression that the deal was good until the s24. Good to know.

Do you guys think we'll get anything better around black Friday? Like the $299 s22.

Bought the 512 S23 Ultra for 600 at launch. Only got charged one time for that 600+tax. in Feb. Cancelled my play just past Aug 29 a little over the 120 days. No charges at all. Even upgraded my plan to the premium plan too and no extra charges. Pretty happy with the service. Longest travel with 3 hours out of town to even bigger towns and some small town. Still had service. Only place I didn't get service was in big government buildings/court houses where some connections are weak no matter the carrier.

Nope, you called it. Currently at the escalation team, but if they don't handle it swiftly I'll return the phone this next week within the 15 days. Guess that's what I get for jumping the gun!

Another forum member had the same problem about 2 weeks ago and Fi support resolved in about 2-3 days. Hope you'll get it resolved soon.

Total cost will be $600 + $10 (sim card) + $80 (120 days, potentially for 121 days, you may be charged $100 for 4 cycles) = $690 or $710. Not bad but not as much as you perceived in the beginning.

PS: with potential risk of having slickdeal effect, google may change the 120 days to the entire 24 month to make the promotion complete.

To be more accurate: $600 for phone + sales tax + 4 x monthly costs (around $26-$27 each month including taxes & fees for most locations) + $10 for SIM - $10 credit for SIM - $20 Fi credit (after 30 days) if you use a referral code.

I don't know what risk you're worried about. The deal was posted on SD on July 18th so there had been plenty of time for any "SD effect" to occur. If the terms require 120 days when you place the order, that's what applies. If they change the terms and apply them retroactively, they're asking for a lawsuit for breach of contract.

Fixed now and showing properly activated. After some of the support horror stories out there, I'm pleased it was resolved quite quickly.

Good to hear you got it resolved. The few times I needed to contact Fi Support to return an S22 that arrived on the day the S23 pre-release deal came out, the reps were helpful. Make sure to save any chat transcripts for records just in case.

Why do I not see the deal at all when I click on the link to even read the fine print. I know it's applicable for only existing subscribers but do you have to be one before you can even view it?

I got new fi sim card from amazon and activated on my google pixel 7 and now under Fi savings, it showing me following promo - "$300 back on Pixel 7 after 24 monthly bill credits. Must be new to Google Fi."

Also, I do see bill now (after 2 days of sim activation) but still don't see any promotion for existing customers for any phones (not only samsung, but for other phones as well)..

Any suggestions??
