However, steam deck does not have oled screen if that's a deal breaker for you.

Do the switch games emulate on the steam deck well? Is it as smooth as native Switch?

I've seen a couple of videos of of that and it seem like they were saying it runs, but not a great experience. Like Zelda games?

Not a problem, they just don't support wifi chs that aren't legal in japan. If you look up which ones are legal in japan and set your routers 5ghz wifi ch to one of those chs it will work and connect with out an issue. I have a jdm pokemon switch and connect to both my us bought asus router and the router my colombian isp has provided after making such ch adjust ments. All switches are region free as well and you can play any physical games on them from anywhere and your eshop will be based on the country you pick when you setup your initial account. I have bought games from us eshop no problem on my jdm switch for those wondering. There is no other difference between us and jdm switch, power cables are the same as well.

I'm in Japan now. These have an MSRP of around $270 USD (~39000 yen) here. Nintendo consoles and games are in not region locked for the Switch, except for China. Prior Nintendo consoles (before the Switch), in general, are region locked.
