I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

So is this a Boost branded device? Like the startup animation shows Boost Mobile?

Yeah, been here a long time just never had an account. Started using SD in college in the early 2000s.

I have this phone and it is very nice but it doesn't work on TracFone or safelink. It does work on att and TMobile and not sure about Verizon. Also if you value OS updates stay away. It's still on Android 12 since release.
Second this. The last security patch is > 6 mos old, which if you use it as a BYOD for work with 6 mos window, you'd be SOL.

Isn't anyone else concerned this is owned by Lenovo, a Chinese company?

Is $40 the cheapest plan that works?
I'm pretty sure you could do this as an upgrade if you got the $15/5gb/3month plan from target or best buy.

The 2023 version has the stupid curved screen. Hard pass. The 2023 version was(still is?) $199.99 and the 2022 version was $49.99 in local boost stores with port in.

2023 version is better than the 2022 version. The curved screen is not a deal breaker. If Apple went with a curved screen on the iPhone 15, how many people would not get them? 🤔 it's 399 now and it's a 512 version. Can't beat that deal anywhere

when exactly am I free from boost If i were to order this today? because I also see its locked to boost for 1 year? so I am confused

Note: Phone will be carrier locked to Boost Mobile for 12 months of active service

that confuses me for people that want the deal and then cancel service within the first month. what day exactly do we even cancel.
