I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

The price title should be changed from $150 to $190 since this is what you have to pay to get the phone
huh?

this is the title:

Motorola edge+ 2022 + 1 month Boost service ($40), ***PRICE LOWERED *** Now ONLY $150+$40+tax(~15)=~$205

how much more clear can it be?

This may be a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyway. Does anyone have this phone as well as the a54? If so which do you prefer and why
Dude, this has sd gen 1
It will blow away the a54. I have both and you can't beat 144hz n it's super quick

If I just wanted to use this for gaming, compared to the Moto Stylus 5G 2022 bought from the last deal, how does this compare? Worth the $150 difference between the two to upgrade?

Wow, didn't realize that this was on sale for $50 back in June.

thanks 4 feedback.
been using the a54 as wifi.
it has been sufficient speed for me.
but your point is noted & understood.

my main concern is with the A + security updates from M.
they are very bad in that respect.

some else commented.
better to use the faster phone for 1-2 years v slower phone for 3-4.
especially given there will be another deal in 1-2 years lol

btw..u using E+ as DD or something else?

Does anyone know anyway to unlock all 5G bands in this phone? I want to gift in India but it doesn't have all Indian 5G bands. It's mainly missing n28a,n28b and n258.

agree. that would have been nice...however...

i wouldn't focus on that $50 sale in june much. lots of restrictions.
unless mistaken....

in store ONLY. port in required. came to about the same price after u add in 35 act fee. additional 60 in tax (based on 800 price) . 60 plan required , etc.

ultimately , cant go get that deal any longer

Just placed an order using PayPal and got an error message through Boost Mobile but received an email from PayPal that order went through. Haven't received an email from Boost, should I assume order went through?

Oh, and another question to add to my earlier question: If I just wanted to use this for gaming, compared to the Moto Stylus 5G 2022 bought from the last deal, how does this compare? Worth the $150 difference between the two to upgrade? How do you transfer files if there is no sd card - are there restrictions and what files you can transfer? Moto website implies that you can only move "media" type of files.

You can use the same email using [email protected] (plus sign). I'm using it that way.

Yes, mistaken. That deal was $9.99 plus the $40 Boost plan. So $50 plus some tax, plus a few bucks to unlock. Obviously Edge+ is a better phone, so hard to compare.

There are already 12 pages of posts so I'm not going to read them. But I bet at least a fourth of them say what I'm about to say: Avoid Boost Mobile. Or you'll wish you had.

?? Yes, you obviously didn't read. This is an unlocked Edge+ for about $200. Has almost nothing to do with Boost Mobile.

This is an amazing phone at this price. Tons of people in this thread are missing the point: this is $190 for a snapdragon 8 gen 1 phone. Top tier flagship android chipset from early 2022. Runs circles around any other phone that's not a flagship 2023 phone.

Dr unlock on ebay works for unlocking this phone so you don't need to wait a full year to use on another network. Many people from the previous thread confirmed this phone works great on Tmobile in the US.

The only real downside this phone has is the mediocre camera. By "mediocre" I mean it doesn't match the latest iphone camera. If you just need to take a decent picture in good lighting this will be more than fine. Struggles a bit at night. That and maybe it doesn't work on your specific carrier in your part of the world, but that's the same for trying to unlock any carrier phone and using it on a different carrier.
