I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

Absolutely love this device, I bought it last year for $499 and I feel like it's the best Moto I've ever had. Getting this for under $200 with a SD 8 gen 1 processor is unreal.

Slightly ignorant question.

Im going to a work site for a week and need a data plan. Is there any harm in popping in the boost sim in the boost phone and just using it? I have auto pay already turned off, and the phone is carrier unlocked. Im 99% sure that a carrier can not relock a phone...
Relocking is extremely unlikely. Almost never happens. Just make triple sure it's unlocked and restarted a few times, before you pop Boost SIM in.

Add the Tacefone APN to there, it should work. I have Visible (Verizon company) , added Visible APN , it works fine
So, when I put the TracFone (previously Total Wireless) sim card in the phone, it automatically set the TracFone APN. But, it can't make any calls. Also, nothing is listed as "selected" under the Mobile Network.

Additionally, I can't add an APN, as "+" is missing from the APN settings. Am I doing something wrong? Any help you can provide, would be great.

Thanks,
Ash

TF doesn't allow sim swap. If you want to use TF in this phone (after unlock), you need to get a new TF sim card.

I have this phone. It's very good. I think the 512gb offered here is the Snapdragon processor, whereas the 256gb is the Mediatek which is inferior. This seems like a really good buy. As good as this is the 2023 edge is even better.
Quote from Jon1230 :
They are referring to the non plus Edge.

That said, this deal (and the 2023) is now dead
He did not refer non plus Edge, he said 256gb version to compare with 512gb version.
Obviously, he does not understand what he/she is talking about.
There is no Mediatek SoC in Moto egde+ at all, no matter 512gb or 256gb

I previously bought the Moto 5G stylus for $9.99 plus the $40 plan, What if I want to keep the Boost service, but not want the $40/month plan anymore, how do I change it because I cannot change it under my account..no other plans are offered to change to?

Got it. Thanks. So, if I get a new sim card, do I need to transfer my number to that new sim before I try it on the Moto Edge Plus?

It is still alive. And thanks for the correction. The 256gb is the Edge and not the edge plus.

You probably won't need a new SIM card.

I think you can call TF and register MotoEdge

The 2 are done at the same time. When you activate a new SIM card at TF, it will ask for the phone's IMEI. You need both sim and phone in hand for the activation.

Wasn't a fan, doesn't have much use for media or gaming like I'd assume a 6.5" screen would because it's like two inches wide, no joke. The dimensions of a phone should be closer to a piece of paper rather than a widescreen movie.
