I got the moto g stylus 5g from boost about a month ago, but to be honest it seems slow for me when opening/scrolling and switching between the apps.(no gaming) Will this be much more smoother? Anyone has both?

Also, I enabled the toggle to show the display refresh rate in developers mode, then forced the display to use 120Hz always, but it never showed 120, it was stuck at 60Hz in all of my apps. So, 120hz or 144hz work only in games? (i dont have any games installed)

display is set for auto, 60hz, or 144hz. So you can set it to 144hz all the time if you want.

speed should be night and day

I should have replied to you again I tried my sim from my Tracfone and it worked in the Moto. I only tried some data and called my other phone. I don't know if there would be issues later if I leave it in. Guess I'll find out after I use Boost service up.
Are you on Tracfone Verizon Sim or GSM sim?
I put my mom tracfone verizon sim into this phone but it didn't work.
What were the steps you took? Maybe I am doing something wrong.
Im hoping i can get it to work because my mom phone is moto 4g that is super laggy.
Thanks

I forced display to use 120Hzin the settings, but it still showed 60Hz in all apps.

EDIT: found why it was behaving so strangely. I had energy saving mode enabled)) It appears, it doesnt go higher than 60Hz in that mode

the stylus was 50$ to be fair).
I know that on paper there is huge difference, as the stylus chip is compareble to snappdragon 845, but not sure how the difference will feel in real life with light usage, meaning no gaming.

EDIT: just watched the s9 vs s22 speed tests on youtube to see the difference. And it appears to be quite noticible.

My APN says Verizon the phone I took the sim out of is a straight out the box Moto G Power 2022. All I did was take the sim out of Power and put it in Edge+ waited until it connected.

I would suggest disabling some of the stock apps and ram boost in settings. My g stylus 5g feels plenty smooth...main phone is a S22U. But the stylus doesn't feel slow at all.

I would advise against TF VZW sim swap. It's officially not allowed (temporarily data may work but VZW will catch IMEI change). I even read that one person got his account suspended for sim swap, which is crazy.

I agree it was more just to see if it was actually compatible. I'll do a proper change when I'm done with Boost service.

695 CPU. Maybe the non 5g model uses 400 series.

I saw one poster said he successfully activated this phone (after unlocking) on TF VZW. So try again a few days. Perhaps, VZW hasn't updated the whitelist with your unlocked phone.
