I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

The 5G logo showed up in the top right for me. The speed test still wasn't great with only 12 Mbps down. I've never found 5G with cricket to be that fast to begin with.
If you go to *#*#4636#*#* and phone information, what shows it show for NR state?

Does anyone know if best buy will take this as a trade in I got it unlocked already
In general when it comes to trade in, doesn't matter if the phone is unlocked or locked as long the phone isn't blacklisted.

I only saw someone mention the value which I already knew. Haven't seen anyone that said they went and did it.

I think it's better than I had with Pixel 6 Pro
But not as good as newer phones with TSMC produced chips such as plus version gen 1 and gen 2 Qualcomm chips
The first gen tensor Pixels have horrible battery life...that goes for active usage and idle. The reception was poor too, which worsens battery as well. The 7a is supposedly a good performer in this area. You're still not going to get the efficiency of the 8 gen2 ofc.

You're sure it's working with 5G? I'm with Cricket and only get 4G LTE
Wife and I both have this phone. Hers is on cricket. She gets the 5G symbol. Speeds are ok (but I think thats just cricket) 15-20mbps.
I use my phone on t-mobile (work) and get 5G+ symbol and speeds in excess of 100mbps. (one afternoon it hit 185mbps)

Possible. The X side has a plastic that prevents you to put a SIM in it.
but the phone only got one IMEI. is it possible to add a 2nd IMEI without some tweaking assuming you can physically remove the plastic that block the 2nd sim slot?

BTW it's working overseas for anyone who's interested.

I don't think the phone has the hardware for the 2nd SIM. It's kind of difficult to remove the plastic without breaking the SIM holder.

On Visible (Verizon) I don't see more than 80mbps most days, in NY. I know with T-Mobile I saw 100-200 down. Anyway the speed you're getting is impressive. Never saw anything like that from a phone.

Well that's just weird that mine isn't showing 5G. I'm in the metro Atlanta area which should be covered in a At&t 5G (and 5G+) signal. My SIM is the newer white Cricket SIM so that shouldn't be the issue...

FWIW, just ran a speed test on LTE and it was about 57mbps.

that should be easy with a very sharp knife, as it's only a thin plastic
