I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

60+ pages, so I apologize if it's been covered. I successfully unlocked the phone with an ebay code, then went through Motorola's site to get the unlock code for the bootloader, unlocked it; and then manually (fastboot) flashed the latest retail firmware (June-1-2023), and then finally relocked the bootloader.

Now the phone has:
Android 13 with June 1, 23 security update, and updated baseband & kernel. The only thing is that the software channel remains as "DISH Wireless" so I may have broken OTA. However, given that the phone was still on Android 12 firmware from January, it doesn't seem like a great loss. I can always update it manually later on. Everything works perfectly, and I think I gained a setting called "Performance" under the System Menu.
From where you bought network unlock code. Why you needed to unlock bootloader and how you got it from Motorola

Since this one does have the additional slot for second sim, just marked x, probably disabled in software, if you flash Asia firmware, it probably support dual sim.

Unlocking the bootloader and cross flashing voids the warranty?

It would be interesting if someone can figure this out. do note though the need to remove the black plastic in the second sim tray to work

I am now firmly in the Samsung camp and sometimes buys Pixels, but no Motorola for me because of their update policy. The Edge+ I think gets 2 OS/3 Y.

Uninstall the app. Reinstall the app. That will work

Looking for any info from anyone using the Boost One app for bill credits…

Anyone else having issues with the BoostOne app in the past few days earning Boost coins? It keeps telling me I've done my ads for the day only after watching exactly 5 ads.
Did I miss a message or talk and maybe they changed the amount of ads to watch from the previously allowed 25 ads per day?

Can anyone confirm if they are able to watch/earn more than 5 ad credits?

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you bother? Out of curiosity, I tried watching 4-6 ads in the app across a couple of days and you basically have to spend like 1 minute per ad and all you get paid is $0.02 (2 coins) for that 1 minute. If you're watching 25 ads a day, that's only $0.50 for half an hour of your time.
