I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

I purchased the unlock key off eBay from a seller before eBay suspended his account. I needed another unlock code (purchased a 2nd phone) and was able to get in contact with him for another code. He sold it to me directly and it worked great. I asked him if I could send others to him and he said it would be fine. He communicates through WhatsApp. If you want his number you can DM me.

From where you bought network unlock code. Why you needed to unlock bootloader and how you got it from Motorola
Got the unlock code from ebay but apparently my seller in no longer available... There are others.

The bootloader unlock may not be necessary according to some on this thread. In my case, I like to have full access to any device I'm going to modify.

To get the code from Motorola, you gotta start here: https://en-us.support.motorola.co..._id/87215/

Does anyone else run Cricket and actually get 5G? I did a bit of driving today and never saw it change from 4G LTE and I know I have 5G towers within range

Why is Moto ignoring this particular variant updates? Or is it the Boost mobile to blame? I have the Boot mobile Moto stylus 5g 2022 model and it received a security update on July 1st 2023 while this one latest security update dates back to February 2023. I am kind of regretting I made this purchase for this particular reason.

moto hosts the firmware. But boost has to approve it(and add their secret sauce) before moto can release it. Boost is known to be slow for approvals... Most other variants have got the update.

How is the battery life on ths phone?
I think it kinda sucks. Seems to go down 15% every 8-10 hours doing nothing. Like i will give it a full charge before bed, and wake up and it will be at 85%. I goto work and maybe have 1 hour of screen time between google maps and answering a few texts and snapping a few photos. By the time i get home she is at 25-30%. I didnt even game nor surf nor watch youtube...

Id say my oneplus 8 lasted 4x longer with this usage pattern.

My edge+ just went completely dead. It is only a week old. Put charger in, no response. Long press power. Power+vol up, power+vol down, all no respond. Plug in computer, nothing. It is not dropped or in the water. Has anyone hit this problem?

Leave it plugged in for several hours , see if it charges/wakes up.
