I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

This phone is not good with TracFone T-Mobile sim only shows LTE and speeds are slow. I can put sim in Pixel 6a and speed is way better and shows 5g. I am debating trying to trade in at Best Buy I hope the value doesn't tank by time a good unlocked phone offer comes.

I purchased the unlock key off eBay from a seller before eBay suspended his account. I needed another unlock code (purchased a 2nd phone) and was able to get in contact with him for another code. He sold it to me directly and it worked great. I asked him if I could send others to him and he said it would be fine. He communicates through WhatsApp. If you want his number you can DM me.
DM sent. Appreciate your support.

Check your apn settings..
My T-Mobile gets 5G+ speeds over 150
Maybe it's a tracfone thing

I've done that a few times texting system to update APN. I think this phone just doesn't play well with TracFone on any network. I took Verizon sim out and phone worked but I can't activate a Verizon sim with this phone when I get to entering IMEI TracFone pushes using GSM sim. So I use T-Mobile sim and speed is slower than 6a which gets up to 100Mbs range. Moto goes from a max of 60 sometimes to usually 10 speeds are inconsistent

I think it kinda sucks. Seems to go down 15% every 8-10 hours doing nothing. Like i will give it a full charge before bed, and wake up and it will be at 85%. I goto work and maybe have 1 hour of screen time between google maps and answering a few texts and snapping a few photos. By the time i get home she is at 25-30%. I didnt even game nor surf nor watch youtube...

Id say my oneplus 8 lasted 4x longer with this usage pattern.

I had the same issue with my newish nord n20 spare phone from one of these many slickdeals. Ended up factory resetting it (PITA I know) and it seemed to solve it for now, shrug.

Looking at the battery stats should show what apps are eating the battery. For mine most of it was google play services. On googling. it seems many apps use google play services, so the problem is probably a rogue app and not actually google play services. Anyways like I said this just convinced me to factory reset it in case the issue was an app.

Have you flashed retail firmware on a boost mobile phone with LOCKED bootloader successfully?
I am 100% sure you haven't.

Stop misleading people to cross flashing with LOCKED bootloader if you cannot confirm it's working.

To other users here: you need to unlock bootloader if you want to cross flash retus firmware onto this phone. Otherwise you will see "preflash verification failed" error and the phone will have a corrupted system and won't boot normally and you will spend more time fixing the system.
I used the replace file method and everything works fine besides ota as expected. No issues at all so far. Still on locked bootloader

If you check closely, you will find out cross flashing using the replace file method of LMSA with locked bootloader is not complete flash, which only flash some partitions (that are allowed with locked bootloader) but skip some partitions (those failed pre-flash verification with locked bootloader). So it may look like the cross flashing is finished while in fact it is only partial flash.

I dont care for "glass" protectors. I use "wet" install style. Look cleaner and wont crack. You put it on like window tint (squeege etc)

I used to use those but soon enough dirt will start getting around the edges and lift up the protector.

I am on Tracfone too. I got LTE and network, but it won't let me call or text. Lucky my 1 year plan just finished. I got 30days trial on StandupPrepay, immediately I am on 5G+, everything works

Most Motorola Edge+ 2022 variants already received or are getting Android 13 this month but looks like Boost Mobile is abandoning support for this phone or simply discontinuing.
