I have used them both because my friend reviews tech products for a living and I go over and play with them. This is a much stronger processor. It also supports a desktop mode and the a54 does not. This has a glass build wireless charging and a lot more flagship features.

Major benefit to the a54 is that it's going to be updated for a lot longer.a54 we'll get Android 13 and 14 and 15 and this will probably just get Android 14. And it won't get security patches for as long.

Personally I would go with the Motorola but if I was recommending a phone to a casual user like my mom or my sister I might lean with the a54 just cuz it'll be secure for a longer period of time and they probably wouldn't make use of the flagship features like the desktop mode or the stylus.

The Motorola also has stylus support with an external stylus you can buy, an amazing desktop mode with a dock. Definitely a more premium piece of hardware

Yes this been going on for awhile in The Feb thread.

Was thinking of getting one but
Slow Moto Android upgrades, no dual sim, avg cam, large size stopped me.

Was going to get it for $50 with in store port in...but boost stores charge MSRP tax, activation fees, and higher plan... Similar to metro stores...so I didn't go that route.

Just a little review here. I received the phone on Monday and have been using it since. For $200 this phone is a steal. I am updating from a Oneplus 9 that I got last year on a Slickdeal from Best Buy for $150. The biggest issue I had was that it was only 128gb and the OnePlus 7 I had before was 256gb. This being 512gb takes away any space concerns which were a big problem before. The Snapdragon processor is top of the line and for me the Ready Now is a real game changer. I am able the phone on my desktop during work and now I don't need to use the phone itself at all for most things. It will also be great for using on vacation. I can just plug it into any hotel tv and have a desktop like experience or watch whatever I want from the phone. I was able to unlock it right away from Dr. Unlock on eBay who was recommended in the wiki. I am having the tracfone issue mentioned but I will order a new sim to have it transferred before the month of Boost is over. I also use Google Voice as my primary number so the actual service or phone number doesn't matter. No need to port my number when I switch services. I am no expert with cameras and i'm sure the cameras here will meet my simple needs. Overall this is a great deal to get a top of the line flagship phone at a great price.

i haven't noticed poor signal on tm. just random drop off.

fb mp has always been reasonable for me.
did u not get any hits? what were u asking? just curious.

i dont mind the bb $300.
but just wouldn't know what to do w the GC.
maybe list the gf on fb mp for ~285?
I tried $250 just to move it and only one message but must have been a scammer because I could see notification but not respond. I wanted a new stereo so I got one with some of the gift card. Moto resale is crap and just wanted to be done.

Will keep mine. Specs are too good for only 180 (20 visa rebate) and it's not as bulky as my previous phone.
We'll see if boost updates security or Android os.
If not, I'll just do a bootloader unlock and install OEM a13. I'm in no rush.

Has anyone flashed oem rom on this? Can you check your cellular settings? I am not able to find a field where you would normally enter apn setting for internet and messaging. It just says that my carrier setting config version is bla bla bla. I am wondering if this because it is boost rom installed, and i can solve it by flashing oem rom.

If you are on the original boost rom:
settings/network & internet/mobile network/access point names
I can change my apn etc.. no problem

I've been using its for Android/Retro gaming and got a gamepad for it too.
It's been a blast so far, not really using it for calls/text in fact has not sim at all.

The bad signal I got with tmobile was the breaking point for me. The speeds were slow when the signal was there. I could pop the sim into my Pixel 6a and get 100mb consistent signal. Put the same sim in the Moto and speeds were from 10 - 80mb and would lose signal all the time.

That on top of no updates it had to go I tried Facebook Marketplace then just went BB route while the value is high to limit the loss on this device
Those poor speeds have nothing to do with this phone. 😀

A phone modem has capable speeds, the modem in this moto has a much much much better modem than the pixel 6a, sorry you had issues with your phone + sim + area + T-Mobile.

Only outside factors affect the speed, but the modem in each phone is fully capable for whatever it's rated modem wise.

The phones in the exact same room so the exact same conditions and the Moto would lose signal completely and speeds where inconsistent when it was connected. The Pixel kept a strong consistent signal and speeds but it wasn't the Moto with some issue?
