I've had mine for about 6 months. I'm a bit of a purest when it comes to espresso machines but I moved into a smaller place and I wanted to get rid of my super automatic and I wanted to be able to use a grinder (which honestly is way more important than the espresso machine). I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with the consistency and quality of this machine. For the price and the footprint it's really a nice option.

Caphalon has been known for kitchen appliances (pans) for a while - through Macy, JCPenny route. Yet to see if it's on par with Braville or De longhi though. Was eyeing this but got the Delonghi Dedica EC8XX on prime sale. Similar, but Caphalon has a gauge, and a decent steam wand. I'd get it at this price.

Any recommendations on a nice grinder? Not willing to spend more than 150-200 max

How is the temperature of the brew? I bought another machine recently I want to return that the coffee comes out lukewarm.

not the person you asked, but I've liked my baratza encore grinder, and it goes on sale for around $120 a few times a year.

only just skimmed this ad, but this might be a legit way to get one right now:

+1 on the Baratza Encore. Also recommend doing the M2 Burr upgrade (about $35), which is the burr from their higher end Virtuso grinder.

I bought a used Virtuoso over 10 years ago and it still gives me the warm fuzzy feelings every morning. I've had new Preciso burrs sitting in a box on a shelf this whole time and have never done anything other than infrequent cleaning and upgrading to the anti-static bin. Since the current model comes with the digital timer but without the Preciso micro adjustments, I think the Encore plan is solid.

With that said, I don't make espresso, but it seems like weighing each shot would start to come between my family's daily caffeine. Your budget makes the Breville Smart Grinder an option, but it doesn't give me the warm fuzzy feelings at all.

I've had a Breville Smart Grinder Pro for three years. I use it daily for espresso, and occasionally for drip. Easy to switch grinds. Plenty of control. No regrets on the investment.

BTW, I'm using a Dedica Deluxe.

Anyone on the fence - HomeGoods currently has the breville bambino for $250. I haven't seen many reviews on this, but the bambino is quite popular.

For grinders, the zspesso jx-pro is great for espresso and one of the most inexpensive options you'll find, if you can handle a manual grinder.

Do you have a link for the Bambino or is it in stores only (and YMMV)? I'm ready to buy a space-saving no frills espresso maker. I already have a water boiler, grinder, and milk frother. All I need now is something to extract.

I couldn't find it on the website. I saw it in a post on the espresso reddit, where several people were able to replicate. It may be a variable stock issue. There were 2 in my local DFW store (I bought one). The deal was good enough for me to justify popping in.
