Unfortunately not anymore. That's the way it used to be for Microsoft subscriptions and it was a great way to get game pass ultimate and family plans for free but they changed it a few weeks ago. Now when you to a higher tier it will prorate the months based on the ratio of the price.
It looks like you can get 15 Months of Microsoft 365 Family plus 12-Months of NordVPN for only $3 more more (or am I missing something)?
$67.99 Link[newegg.com] Microsoft 365 Family | 15-Month Subscription up to 6 people | Premium Office apps | 1TB OneDrive cloud storage | PC/Mac Download and NordVPN Internet Privacy for Windows/MacOS/Android/iOS - 6 Devices 12 month VPN Subscription (Limit 1)
I think the complication with the prime day sales is that Amazon takes over the billing, so you can't stack new cheap codes on top of it. You might be able to cancel and reapply the sale each year, but someone else might need to comment on that. For myself, it's nice to get a 'free' NordVPN code for these particular sales.
If you want to stack, I think you can use 4 personal account license key then after a few days, use a family license key on the 5th then it will convert your account from personal to family. I think you can stock up to 5 years.
Family plan worth it for the online storage alone. Software is just a cherry on top
And if you need to work on and seamlessly sync docs, spreadsheets, etc on multiple platforms there's no other solution that performs as well. The open source solutions just don't cut it. This is a great price for that functionality.
PS: for those looking to use onedrive for backups, try rclone
Office 365 Family is on sale each year during PrimeDays for even cheaper and it was for 18 months. I don't see the point in adding layers to your current sub if its on sale for sure again within 12 mos. If you understand the cost of money and the time value of money, you are parking your money with MSFT while they invest it and you are holding an asset you can't even use until the future. Not a smart move. By accumulating discounts youre not smart but a money fool IMO.

PSA: avoid the stupid cheap ebay licenses where they give you a login. You're just getting an account in some bs school/org/enterprise - and they will be able to see all of your email/files you store/generate with that account.
As an aside, if you know anyone who works at MS, ask for a friends and family code to the company store. My friend hooked me up. $20/yr for family and $14 for personal. They each get so many to give out per year. And no, no one with a clue is reselling them he said - good way to self select during all these layoffs.

Well dang that sucks, was waiting for a family deal to do the conversion.

Show you right. I just dont see the need to prepay beyin the next sale. What is the point of locking up money that could be invested or to purhchase soemethign else when you know there will be anotehr sale in 12 months.

So what is the best way to stack these now?
Just buy the family plans?
I have 2 personal codes I haven't active yet.
