Just trying to clarify what he said. If the discount percentages are consistent (which with direct tools they are not) then the breaking point is $75

30% with free shipping: $75 w30% off = $52.5

50% with $15 shipping: $75 w50% off + $15= $52.5

Anything below $75 you are better off with 30% off and free shipping

Anything above 50% and $15 shipping

Depending on what you are buying, 30% off with free shipping could be a better deal than 50% plus shipping. With Direct Tools, it really pays to keep track of pricing for the particular items you are interested in so you can swoop in and buy when the deal is best.

Usually the cheap stuff that is hard to justify the $15 shipping costs are good to buy during the free ship sales. For example, the inflator at 17.49 is a great deal, but if you had to pay 15 shipping then it's new HD price. The cheaper brushed tools that you might need 1 time 3 years from now are good to grab.

3 weeks is reasonable.

Mine usually take 3 months, and I live about 12 hours from my nearest DTO.
I usually buy only if it's a really good deal and that I don't need said tools anytime soon, but I know I'll need them for a project or seasonal project that is coming up.

And sometimes, by the time actually recieve the items, I have already forgotten that I ordered them.

Yup, Been tracking an item that is $45. 50% off is $22+ $15 shipping is $37. 30% off is $31.50. a little cheaper. Too bad, ordered this once before with fillers when it was 50% off and $10 shipping and they canceled it but shipped the fillers!

Last time I got lanyards from Home Depot it felt like 7.50 for a two pack was an ok deal. This is a way better deal, thanks! I can finally organize my tools more efficiently on my pegboard by hanging them in a row with all these lanyards

Are you saying that the final price is always the same no matter what the discount is? So the tool that you are looking at $60 no matter which discount they are offering (which is what I'm saying)

Or are you saying it is accurate and change depending on what is offered. So $100 list price tool is $50 when 50% off, $60 when 40% off and $70 when 30% off (that's not my experience with them)
