At this price the Strongarm is a solid recommendation. Any higher and there are better options. 420HC is a lower-mid range stainless steel that is very corrosion resistant, but trades off hardness for toughness. It is easy to sharpen, but wont hold an edge very long. Don't confuse the Gerber heat treat on 420hc with the legendary process Buck Knives' has developed for their 420HC.
You'd have to go back to 2016 or 2017 before all this inflation to find a better deal on a Strongarm. If Gerber and this style of knife are your thing, then this is a decent deal. Is this the best hard use/outdoors/survival knife on the market? Heck, no. But it should serve the average user well if not abused. And, for the record, I consider batoning wood with a knife abuse. That's what axes and hatchets are for.
Besides that amazon will back it
I've gotten at least 2 fake Gerber products from Amazon. In print, you should have no problem with returns, especially with fakes. In reality, I just spent an hour the other day because dealing with chatting customer service in India and getting them to try to understand the issue and get the issue resolved. It's a massive pain in the ass.
I've got better things to do than gamble (because with this product, it's almost certainly a fake) that I might get one of the few genuine articles, and then deal with the hassle of customer service.

Sharpening serrations is not a fun or easy task. If the blade is of decent steel (the 420hc of a genuine Gerber, which this almost certainly isn't) should take a good enough edge that you'd generally not need to "chew" through anything using a serrated portion.
