No expiration date according to the T&Cs on the listing on costco's website. I actually think it's a legal thing for gift cards overall (that they can't expire). Back in the Groupon days, even if the "extra" value expired the paid value never did. Like a $25 for $50 would always be worth $25. Hope that helps!

Not necessarily. If you have the Alaska airlines card, you get a free checked bag for you and everyone else on your reservation. Checked bags are $30/each. But...you have to pay for the ticket with the credit card.

As long as some portion of the ticket is paid with the credit card, 1st bag per passenger on same reservation is free.

I took a trip and paid for the flight with points but charged the security fee on the Alaska credit card. My bag and my kids bag were free.

Does Alaska let you decide how much gift card you want to apply to the flight purchase....for example if flight is $410, can you apply $400 gift card (of a $500 gift card), and $10 to credit card?

It'll use the entire gift card first. The best way would be to book flights for multiple people if price is under the gift card amount. You need to do this anyways so everyone gets free bag check-in. Can combine this with the yearly companion fare too.
