CDr has a horrible life span, I've seen them fail in 3-5 years. Keep in mind the lifespan of a pressed CD is decades but a CDr is only in years.
Hold the lime!!! It'll be $50 soon. You can't write much with 2TB nowadays, given NVME is now the only internal drive available. Hopefully 4TB will be $99 this BF sale
This is PCIE 3 not 4.
PS5 requires PCIE 4.

I'll trade you a lime for a cheap NVME drive. Deal?

RIP magnetic 3.5" hard drives. NVME drives trying to end their career.

Actually long term won't the flash die from non use but a physical platter wouldn't?

Yes. Platter are better for long term storage. Better yet are CDs (or even better forms of optical media).

i wouldn't risk it! last time i passed up on a tech deal some fake shortage occurred! this was for DDR4 memory prices which tanked a few years ago then some shortages caused prices to double.

buy now, think later!

There are many instances where a 3.5" hard drive is superior to NVMe drives. One such area is larger storage arrays. Costs, capacity, and standard maintenance of data are why they are superior to a SSD in that area.

Until when? Say they do go $50, you'll be saying hold on $40 is coming, and so on! When does it stop?!? They are already just as cheap if not cheaper than regular 2TB sata drives have ever been. If your in the market just buy it! NVME aren't in the spiked overinflated territory any longer.
